revised dress code.

On our first cruise (last January), I wore my Army Dress Blues on the first formal night (retired Army officer). Many of the guests in the Dining room wanted to buy me a drink (unfortunately I don't drink, except for an occasional beer). It was a little more attention than I am comfortable with. The second night I wore a Navy suit. I am not complaining, in fact I am proud of the patriotism shown by my fellow American cruisers. My Blues are staying home during our next cruise.

No head in the sand here.

The dress guidelines do NOT require or request a suit or tux.

Simple as that.

Of course you can exceed that by wearing a suit or tux but it is NOT required.

Anything else seems very misleading to me.

"You didn't see the word required because I didn't use the word required."

The old, FORMAL NIGHT, dress code DID say requested and that is the dress code referred to in posts #'s 41, 43, and the one you copied in #47.

That is as clear as I can make it.

If you believe I said "required," please list the post #

The "Old Code".

Shame the old days are gone forever.
