Who has a question for Holland America CEO, Stan Kruse?

Thanks for the link...

I think we should come up with a couple of good questions for the big guy. The comments I read so far seemed a little so-so.

What do you think?

It does seem more like a comments blog than direct questions...

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

I agree. He's going to hold to the company line. (i.e., "As You Wish Dining" being a tremendous success. Not for everyone, that's for sure. Especially those who don't get to dine "as they wish.")

Interesting to finally see HAL's Mission as stated by Mr. Kruse:

"Through excellence, we create once-in-a-lifetime experiences, every time."

Highly goal oriented and somewhat standard fare as mission statements go. I wonder what the success ratio is. I have met many staff who live up to this mission on a daily basis and a few, very few, who have not.

This should be posted in a prominent place shipboard - perhaps at the Front Office. (And the Casino :))

Is he still taking questions? I wanted to post but could not find the "Comments Section" where it says to post your questions

In his last post of Friday morning, Mr. Kruse says he will return later this afternoon.

Ok, can you show me the link where you post a question, and also the location to the questions and answers already asked?

The link is in post1 of this thread. Takes awhile to load. Try refreshing the page as soon as it will allow. Seems to help on Windows Vista, anyway.

Oh well, I give up. There is no place to post and no "Comments section" on my computer. I do not use Vista. Oh Well.

"So let's get things started. Cruise Loggers, do you have a question about Holland America's ships, itineraries, on-board amenities such as shows and specialty restaurants, or other topics? Leave it for Kruse in the comment area below, and he promises to stop in repeatedly over the next three days with answers. "

Jade13, my point was that EVEN with Vista (a very problematic operating system) I can see the Q and As and the place to enter comments at the bottom of the page that you have just quoted. I do have to wait a minute or two for that part of the page to load. Other systems should have less problems. You might want to check with your Help Desk.

This Q & A with Stein Kruse is now closed.

Jade, I don't have any problems seeing the Q & A when I click the link. Right at the top, under the headline "Who has a Question for Holland America CEO, Stein Kruse" you'll see, in smaller font, "Comments" and "Recommended". Simply click "Comments" & there you have it. When I checked just now, there were 89 questions/responses. But no surprises!:rolleyes:

Interesting site..Thanks for posting the URL..Tried to register but they were having technical problems..

Does anyone know if there is a cutoff date/time to post questions to Mr. Kruse?

thanks..Betty

I guess I don't get to ask a question. I'm not registering with any site that I don't absolutely need to use. The more registrations, the more spam. That's how I see it.

Blue skies ...

He is gone but at the moment you can still post. He says his staff is ready so if you have something to say, post it now.

This is interesting for those asking about jeans in the dining room:

From USA Today:

"1d ago I have a few minutes before our Employee of the Year dinner tonight, so here goes!

There have been a few comments about dressing up, or down, and formal vs. informal. Tonyg mentioned that dressing up is still part of the attraction of a cruise and we should not stray too far away from our traditions in this regard. I agree on that. As we see in society as a whole, there is a tendency towards more casual attire – casual office or Friday-casual, less use of a tie, many upscale restaurants not requiring a jacket etc. All this is now the norm so in some ways we are following that trend.

On the other hand, I fully agree with you that one can take that too far and before we know it, jeans and tee shirts become the norm. And that is not what we wish to see. Please understand, I have nothing against jeans – quite the contrary, I love wearing a good pair of comfortable fitting jeans, but there’s a time and place for everything and the Holland America Line dining experience is not one that goes well with jeans and tee shirt."

Figures I could finally post when I tried from home. I was typing so fast I forgot to check my spelling. In any event, he has people reading...

This used to be referred to as "Talking out of both sides of his mouth". Today it's just called "double-speak".
