SunPacific Posted December 14, 2008 #1 Share Posted December 14, 2008 Silly question maybe but one I've never seen addressed here: When you go to a hotel, they have coasters with the ice bucket and glasses. Are there coasters in the cabins?
trock Posted December 14, 2008 #2 Share Posted December 14, 2008 I believe just the paper one that is either a lid on the glass or under the glass ....
ALLMYKIDS3 Posted December 14, 2008 #3 Share Posted December 14, 2008 Silly question maybe but one I've never seen addressed here: When you go to a hotel, they have coasters with the ice bucket and glasses. Are there coasters in the cabins? Not a silly question at all. I've never had them on any of my 9 cruises and wish they had them. They keep the table tops dry and I wouldn't have to worry about the other "stuff " on the tables getting wet. Maybe in the suites but not in any of the other cabins. cb at sea Posted December 14, 2008 #4 Share Posted December 14, 2008 Order room service and request extra napkins--you can use those! (Or, perhaps your room attendant will get you something to use--just ask!)
SunPacific Posted December 14, 2008 Author #5 Share Posted December 14, 2008 Thanks guys! I will bring some of our Hilton coasters and maybe some cocktail napkins, too!:D
Tbay-eh Posted December 14, 2008 #6 Share Posted December 14, 2008 I recall on all of my cruises there is a white cap on the glasses - I always assumed this was a coaster that you took off the top and put under the glass - I guess I was wrong. By the way we have a major storm right now and expect 10 - 12 inches of snow - so far we have about 7. Cindy from the Great White North
BND Posted December 14, 2008 #7 Share Posted December 14, 2008 I've never seen a paper coaster. The glasses are just sitting on the shelf in the bathroom and others above the desk area, at least in Cat 11's there are glasses above the desk. I've only seen them in hotels. Legend Posted December 14, 2008 #10 Share Posted December 14, 2008 Just curious why someone asked if there are coasters......is there a reason they are needed? Never seen the question before or ever spoken to anyone that asked.

Never seen the question before or ever spoken to anyone that asked. I need coasters for my DoD's or glasses of wine or whatever other drinks I may have in my room. BND Posted December 15, 2008 #14 Share Posted December 15, 2008 None of the surfaces can be damaged by liquids. We're not talking cherry end tables here. You don't need coasters.

BND Posted December 15, 2008 #16 Share Posted December 15, 2008 Then, take your own coasters and deal with it.

When unpacking put them around your cabin....Problem solved.....:p:p

bigcraig Posted December 15, 2008 #20 Share Posted December 15, 2008 We have never seen the coasters on Carnival, but we did see Stevie Wonder in a surprise appearance on the Miracle last year. We have also stayed at a Holiday Inn Express before.
Kaboochi Posted December 15, 2008 #21 Share Posted December 15, 2008 OP Why? Take napkins from the buffet or use your washclothh to mop up the wet. Don't pack anything extra - it may put you over the airline weight limit!!!! happy cruising, Kaboochi
