ViolaSwamp Posted December 23, 2008 #1 Share Posted December 23, 2008 We booked a Category H guarantee, found out today our cabin assignment: Category C!!! I'm so excited. :D Does anyone have any experience with this cabin or similar (promenade deck) on Maasdam?

Mary Ellen Posted December 23, 2008 #3 Share Posted December 23, 2008 Congratulations - you are now steps away from the largest veranda on the ship!

ger_77 Posted December 23, 2008 #5 Share Posted December 23, 2008 Congratulations! We stayed in C322 and loved it - about 10 steps away to the beautiful wrap around deck and far enough away to help walk off some of the food. Merry Christmas!!! Smooth Sailing! :):):)
cruzisme Posted December 23, 2008 #6 Share Posted December 23, 2008 super surprise and what a wonderful one it is! Have a wonderful time. BTW, being a former teacher-librarian, LOVE your Viola Swamp! are you a teacher?
ViolaSwamp Posted December 23, 2008 Author #7 Share Posted December 23, 2008 Thanks!! I'm not a teacher, but rather a mother to a preschooler and I love it when my child chooses a Miss Nelson/Viola Swamp book to read together. One of my favorite characters!! :)
RuthC Posted December 23, 2008 #8 Share Posted December 23, 2008 Your cabin on Lower Promenade will be slightly smaller than other outside cabins on Main Deck, but is otherwise excellent. As others have said, you are but steps away from the largest veranda on the ship. You will be able to get to/from lifeboat drill easily. That's always a plus! The Maasdam, as are all the S-class ships, is small enough that it's easy to get to anywhere else on the ship quickly. You're never far away. Cruzman Posted December 24, 2008 #9 Share Posted December 24, 2008 The only down side that I can think of (based on my experience) is that the cat C's far forward are directly under the show lounge and it can be kinda noisy.
Susie51 Posted December 24, 2008 #10 Share Posted December 24, 2008 Congratulations! Merry Christmas. I enjoyed the Maasdam, because it was so easy for my mom and I to get around. She never got lost like she does on larger ships.
ViolaSwamp Posted December 24, 2008 Author #11 Share Posted December 24, 2008 Thanks! Ours is pretty much dead center of the ship which I think is a pretty good location... So that floor opens directly to the lower promenade, we don't have to go upstairs/downstairs to access it? Just down the hall and around a corner to the outside of the ship? Very cool. :D

jschm27 Posted December 26, 2008 #16 Share Posted December 26, 2008 Congrats on the great upgrade! Now that Christmas is about over, maybe the upgrade fairy will get busy and visit me! With my luck though, Santa will tell the No Upgrade Troll that I was a bad boy this year (but even if that happens, I will still be happy). :) John
