Rancher Dave Posted December 28, 2008 #1 Share Posted December 28, 2008 Some of the suites, possibly all, have DVD players... So what movies would you take? I just packed a stack... The Guardian (USCG move about rescue swimers) Hunt for Red October A couple for my DD Airplane (funny movie from my younger days) Top Gun (I love watching the flying scenes) If I had "Love Boat" it would be going as well Probably will never watch any of them...but packed them anyhow. So what would you pack?

GMoney Posted December 28, 2008 #3 Share Posted December 28, 2008 I wouldn't pack any DVDs; I'd just load them on my iPod / iPhone. :D
Clarkk W Griswald Posted December 28, 2008 #4 Share Posted December 28, 2008 None, I think it's a waste of time to watch dvds on a cruise. I can watch them anytime at home!
Ditch Posted December 28, 2008 #5 Share Posted December 28, 2008 Your on vacation!! Leave the DVD's at home, to much to do, and to much to see on a cruise vacation then holding up in your cabin watching movies you can view at home during the cold winter months;)
Z-VILLE CRUISERS Posted December 28, 2008 #6 Share Posted December 28, 2008 Titanic, Speed 2 and Possiden (sp) Adeventure. This is all in fun. We have taken a portable DVD player to play at night or wile getting ready.
rubrrick Posted December 28, 2008 #7 Share Posted December 28, 2008 The DVD players in the suites play CD's as well. We always pack about a dozen CD's of our favorite music. We have never watched a DVD aboard. Too many other things to do!! Rick
GMoney Posted December 28, 2008 #8 Share Posted December 28, 2008 I wouldn't pack any DVDs; I'd just load them on my iPod / iPhone. :D Just to expound a bit - I like to do this to catch up on TV shows I like. I download all the episodes and watch them in a concentrated period of time during flights and the cruise. They help substitute for the nightly "entertainment" provided by the cruise line. Happy ks Posted December 28, 2008 #9 Share Posted December 28, 2008 My DVD player is my one concession to packing "extra" stuff. But I use it to sleep, I can't fall asleep without watching a movie, my husband can't fall asleep with the TV turned on, so it is our compromise. I've tried leaving it home for the sake of packing light, but then I lay awake most of the night. I take the same old boring "sleep" movies that I use at home. You've Got Mail, Must Love Dogs, Sabrina, Sleepless In Seattle, The Notebook, The Holiday, etc.... They all have the same thing in common, nothing perilous, no excessive loud music or ringing telephones, no gunshots or fight scenes. I've thought about the Itouch, but the screen is so dang small. Sometimes we throw in a movie or two that we actually want to watch :p
pepsicruiser Posted December 28, 2008 #10 Share Posted December 28, 2008 I sure as heck would not bring "Poseiden Adventure" lol.

BroncosFan2010 Posted December 28, 2008 #12 Share Posted December 28, 2008 We would bring a few seasons of The Simpsons on DVD. My DH and I watch a few episodes in bed every night before falling asleep. We will miss that on the cruise! Hopefully we will be too worn out from the exciting days in port, and we will fall fast asleep quickly!
cb at sea Posted December 28, 2008 #13 Share Posted December 28, 2008 Can't imagine sitting in the cabin when the entire ship is at your disposal! There's just too much to do!
