What DVDs would you take if your cabin has a DVD Player?

Recommended Posts

Some of the suites, possibly all, have DVD players...

So what movies would you take? I just packed a stack...

  • The Guardian (USCG move about rescue swimers)
  • Hunt for Red October
  • A couple for my DD
  • Airplane (funny movie from my younger days)
  • Top Gun (I love watching the flying scenes)
  • If I had "Love Boat" it would be going as well

Probably will never watch any of them...but packed them anyhow.

So what would you pack?

I wouldn't pack any DVDs; I'd just load them on my iPod / iPhone. :D

Just to expound a bit - I like to do this to catch up on TV shows I like. I download all the episodes and watch them in a concentrated period of time during flights and the cruise. They help substitute for the nightly "entertainment" provided by the cruise line.

My DVD player is my one concession to packing "extra" stuff. But I use it to sleep, I can't fall asleep without watching a movie, my husband can't fall asleep with the TV turned on, so it is our compromise. I've tried leaving it home for the sake of packing light, but then I lay awake most of the night.

I take the same old boring "sleep" movies that I use at home. You've Got Mail, Must Love Dogs, Sabrina, Sleepless In Seattle, The Notebook, The Holiday, etc.... They all have the same thing in common, nothing perilous, no excessive loud music or ringing telephones, no gunshots or fight scenes. I've thought about the Itouch, but the screen is so dang small.

Sometimes we throw in a movie or two that we actually want to watch :p

Just watch the TV - I Love Lucy in Spanish will put you to sleep in no time. :)
