sail7seas Posted January 3, 2009 #2 Share Posted January 3, 2009 PLEASE do not depend upon a response on a bulletin board. Call your cruise line and get reliable info from the source.
Rare LHT28 Posted January 3, 2009 #3 Share Posted January 3, 2009 Are you stopping in a US port? There was another thread here on the new wavier you might try a search but your best bet is to contact the US consulate for the correct info Here is one http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=897454
cherylandtk Posted January 3, 2009 #4 Share Posted January 3, 2009 Helen, Coming from the UK, you still are part of the visa waiver program, so you don't need an actual visa. But all the visa waiver countries pax will need to get the ESTA, which is what I think you are referring to. So yes, you need the thingy. Apply here, takes only minutes, it's free and good for two years: https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov/esta/esta.html?_flowExecutionKey=_cD0DE9C17-B52F-CB76-0FA1-DF00982A8F3F_k87E0E125-7C78-B3A2-8B9C-FB47725591BD
mypleasure Posted January 3, 2009 #5 Share Posted January 3, 2009 Cheryland tk gives good advice. Fill the form out online and that is it. You are covered for any visit to the US for 2 years. Should take only a few minutes for each person in your party and you then have peace of mind from then on. For the sake of a few minutes it could save you a lot of hassle or may be not needed but has to be worth it. Jean

LoisGriffin1 Posted January 3, 2009 #7 Share Posted January 3, 2009 lgw is London Gatwick Airport. As Barbados is not part of the USA so unless you are entering the US you don't need a US waiver. I quickly looked up the visa requirements of Barbados and its not needed unless you are from one of the countries it lists http://www.barbados.org/docs_requirements.htm

cherylandtk Posted January 4, 2009 #12 Share Posted January 4, 2009 Ah, well then you don't need the ESTA, as you are not coming into the US. I had read your first post as you were coming to the states.
