vegancruiser! Posted August 8, 2013 #2009 Share Posted August 8, 2013 Ship EclipseCabin 1629 Deck 11 Area aft Bed near tha bathroom away from patio door Quiet yes Balcony size standard Wind problem? No Soot problem? No Problems / comments This has to be one of the better Aqua class cabins on Eclipse as it is in a nice quiet area, close to the central lifts and is not shaded too badly by the overhang. There is a big supporting pole which comes down diagonally from the overhang to the right hand side of the balcony, this is a feature of every second cabin and won't affect most people. It did affect our neighbours who had booked 2 cabins next door to each other and wanted to open up the partition between their balconies but had the pole between them and while the partition was opened they had to step over the pole which meant a 2foot step over the angle. Just a note for those who might want a similar arrangement to check this out in advance. Thanks for the review! We will be staying in cabin 1627 so a good idea of what it will be like. Quite the idea of the overhang, a bit of shade can be helpful! Nice to hear that it's a quiet area too, I like to enjoy a good book sometimes :-)
Shake Posted August 8, 2013 #2010 Share Posted August 8, 2013 Ship - Solstice Deck - 7 Cabin # - 7268 Class – 2A Starboard or Port Side - Starboard Bed near?(balcony or bath) –Bath Quiet Cabin (With comments on problems. Note if connecting. ) – Being a Mid Ship hump or pop out cabin was surprised at the amount of medium vibration felt in the room especially when sleeping. Not heavy vibration, but medium. Must have been due to being so close to the main 8 elevators. On all other S Class ships we have been on all of our rooms were vibration free. Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – Great viewing room. Balcony glass does not have reflective "X" mirror you can find on Solstice ships on the hump. Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Normal size Was wind a problem? No If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? Any specific problems with this cabin? Any other comments? Great location
Paul_in_Japan Posted August 10, 2013 #2011 Share Posted August 10, 2013 SHIP: Silhouette CABIN #: 8176 DECK #: 8 CLASS: 1C AREA: Midship BED NEAR: Two beds used. The first consisted of two single beds together which I am my wife used. My daughter used the fold-down from the roof bed and she quite enjoyed it. The mattress was comfortable neither too hard or two soft. There was also a soft which could be turned into a bed. We did not use this, but I would guess that the mattress would be quite hard. QUIET?: BALCONY VIEW: Unobstructed. A nice view. BALCONY SIZE: No idea of measurements, but there was a table and two deck chairs. Two people could comfortably sit there and have a meal. WIND A PROBLEM?: Not on the veranda as it was effectively shielded from the wind by baffles and by virtue of the ship's layout as cabins further forward extend further from the center of the ship and screen the wind. SOOT A PROBLEM?: No PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: Overall an excellent room. No noise problems were encountered and the room was just about 20-30 meters from the rear elevators. Very pleasant. __________________

UniPac Posted August 24, 2013 #2022 Share Posted August 24, 2013 SHIP: Reflection CABIN #: 1508 DECK #: 11 CLASS: AQ AREA: Port, front of ship BED NEAR: Bathroom QUIET?: No, gym above, treadmills right above, see comments BALCONY VIEW: No obstructions, close to bridge wing, camera points to balcony BALCONY SIZE: standard WIND A PROBLEM?: no SOOT A PROBLEM?: no PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: As the gym is directly located above, there was noise throughout the day. Sometimes even before the gym should open (eg. 5.30am) or after it should be closed (11:30pm). Worst thing is that the treadmills are right above the cabin - so not only you could hear them run, you could also feel the vibrations of each step. If you don't use your cabin throughout the day, it is okay. Just call guest relations if there is noise after 11pm. But if you want a quiet cabin all the time (e.g. for a nap) stay away from this one (and also from the ones left and right of it cause the treadmills are ~ 1504-1520).
