DH wants to know.....do they have the waffle station still? Where is it located?

That's a good question.

I know the following updates,

"Piazza" with an International Café and Vines -- Adults Only Sanctuary -- A stage for street performers -- The casino will move to Deck 7 to replace the Sterling Steakhouse, which will be converted into the newer Crown Grill

-- LCD flat screen televisions in all staterooms, and a variety of other cosmetic updates. -- Seven new suites will be added with ocean-view picture windows - Enhancements to the onboard boutiques -- New Internet Café

I'm wondering if they will be serving food in the Wheelhouse Bar? :confused:

Or

Canapes in several of the ship's public lounges? :confused:

This is a big deal. Honestly, no kidding.

We were on the CB last August and the mattress was so pancake flat and worn and threadbare that an eggcrate did not help at all.

We had to stuff 2 bed quilts AND the eggcrate under the "mattress" in order to sleep without bruising! AND NO, this is not the "princess and the pea" syndrome :rolleyes: Even my rough and tumble, calloused and thick-skinned husband had aches and pains trying to sleep on that mattress for 9 nights.

Apart from the real physical discomfort, the bedspread was frayed and discolored and the seams were unraveling; it really needed to be thrown out and replaced.

So how is it possible that after this long-delayed, and long-awaited dry dock and refurbishing that they did not replace the over-used, old, worn, disgusting AND very uncomfortable bedding?! :eek:

We are booked on the CB for this coming summer, and I was looking forward to our mini with a comfortable new mattress; but, honestly now I am rethinking spending our money if we are once again going to be unable to sleep comfortably. After all, a once-a-year vacation for us is to REST!

This could be a deal breaker. And that makes me sad and annoyed. :(

Isn't this a major change to the atrium? Do they change the orientation of the stairs? Don't they change step up step down areas on deck 5? Did they have to cut a whole in the ship to change out part of the propulsion system or just repair what was there?

I think they were plenty busy.

Lunamoon - No new mattresses?!
Don't fret!!!!

There's plenty of time till we cruise....;)..:D

They have to work out the kinks first.

By the time we cruise everything will be perfect!!!! ;)...:)

~~~
Wonder if they fixed the engine? :rolleyes:..;)
Things like new mattresses and linens are often done on turnaround days in port. They do not need a drydock to be done. When I was on the Dawn Princess, they even brought in new mattresses while docked in San Diego and that was just a port stop and not a turn around day.
tree woman I am on the cruise with you ... don't worry all will be well.
Thanks, John. I don't know whether I'm excited or worried. Never cruised before and talked DH into this one! Now I'm reading about eggcrates and frayed bedspreads, pancake thin mattresses, etc. Yikes! An adventure, for sure! Four more days!
Sailed the CB this past May, mattress was great....a little on the firm side, but I like a firm mattress. No fraying bedspreads, clean soft duvet! Would sail the CB again in a heart beat:)
We are on the CB on Feb. 8th! Our very first cruise as well... and I also talked my DH into this!! LOL
Looking forward to a smooth-running, sparkling clean, fully appointed ship!! And I, too, appreciate any and all information from those of you who are currently on her!!
Hope you are thoroughly enjoying your cruise!!
Cheers!
FYI, received a call yesterday to see if I wanted to give up my mini for a resechedule to March 8th and a full suite...only means one thing, CB is oversold again. Not a bad deal but due to work and travel committments , this offer was not an option for DH and I.
Besides it snowed and iced here over night, so no matter whats missing or still a work in progress I cant wait to board the CB on Sunday!
I am sailing on CB in May. Is the Churchill Cigar Lounge still there? Is the sports court still there? I heard it might be replaced by the Sanctuary. Do they have volleyball or tennis? Thanks for any info. Keep the info coming.
