My latest Youtube project is not a cruise video, but pays tribute to an airplane that flew millions of passengers to destinations around the world to start their cruise vacations and brought them safely back home at the conclusion of the cruise.

The Flight to Victorville, remembers and pays tribute to the Delta L1011. The last Delta TriStar in the fleet, ship 728, was retired from passenger service on July 31, 2001. On August 1st Captain Bill Arnold flew the airplane to its final resting place in the aircraft bone-yard at Victorville, California. All of the passengers on this historic flight were Delta employees.

The video is a compilation of L1011 film clips from the Delta archives; film clips from the final flight; pictures of the crew; and two Delta television commercials from the eighties. Included in the final fight segment is a spectacular farewell flyby of the Atlanta airport.

My latest Youtube video of Spain shows the highlights of Madrid. Pictures were taken at many of the citys famous parks, avenues, and plazas. Madrid is not a port city, but it would be a fabulous place to spend a few days prior to starting a cruise in Barcelona.

Michele,

We did a fantastic transatlantic cruise a couple of years ago on the Star Princess. I wouldn’t be too concerned about the volcano. The only problem might be in getting into London, but the situation changes almost daily so you won’t know until the day of departure. However, the amount of ash has diminished tremendously and the authorities are dealing with it much more responsibility.

We were stuck in Madrid for a couple days shortly after the volcano erupted and all of Europe was shut down. The airlines are now planning their routes to avoid the ash and as a result are able to operate most flights. Once you’re on the ship the volcano shouldn’t be a problem. In fact, I think this would be a very unique time to visit Iceland.

Click on the links below to view some of the videos from our transatlantic cruise. The pictures of Norway were taking during a Baltic Sea cruise.

I wouldn’t let the volcano change my plans. Hope this helps. If you have any other specific questions about any of the shore excursions please ask.

Regards,

Ron aka Cruzertwo aka Cruzertoo

Hello CruzerTwo:

I've read your post on our 18Oct Celeb Equinox roll call. Thanks for introducing us to your YouTube videos. I've watched some of them with interest. Amazing, you've been to so many places. Great videos, nicely done, and very informative for those like me who want to get an overview of places to visit.

I watched all six Ancient Journey vidoes and I wonder how you did the tour. Was it a cruise line or from another tour company? Please advise as we wanted to do the same someday.

Keep the videos coming.

Thank you.

Michele and Crown Prince:

Thanks for your wonderful comments on my travel videos.

If you want to see some beautiful scenery filmed in the Tuscany area of Italy go see the move Letters to Juliet. It is a really nice, light-hearted movie that will make you feel good and the scenery is spectacular.

My Tuscany Hill Towns youtube video shows many of the places where this movie was filmed. Click on

to view this video. You will especially like the pictures of wine tasting with Luigi at the Tenuta Torciano vineyard near San Gimignano, Italy.

This was one of the most interesting trips that we taken during all our years of traveling. The guides Egypt, Jordan, and Israel were all superb. We relived thousands of years of history during this 15-day, land tour. I will be happy to answer any additional questions you might have about the tour.

Very excited about this one

Hi Michele,

The itinerary for the cruise you’ve chosen sound really interesting. Sorry, but I only have videos for three of your ports of call.

Quqortor, Green is a very small town that can easily be seen on a self-guided walking tour. Some of the local residents will greet the ship in colorful costumes and will be happy to pose for pictures – especially the children. They will expect a tip. The entire town is very colorful with houses painted in every color of the rainbow.

We docked in Reykjavick, on the south side of Iceland, and took the “Golden Circle” ship sponsored tour that included the geothermal rift valley in Thingvellir National Park, Strokkur Geyser, and the Gullfoss Waterfall. I notice your cruise makes port calls on the western and northern parts of the island. Similar excursions might be available from one of your stops.

Since your tour ends in Dover you might not have time to explore the city. However, I’ve included the video of Dover to give you some ideas if you do have time to explore. The Secret WWII Tunnels were very interesting.

Click on the links below to view the videos.

Quqortog, Greenland

Reykjavick, Iceland

Dover, Enland

Have a great cruise,

Michele,

You sound like my wife! She could easily do a thirty-one day cruise with NO stops. See loves sitting by the pool, reading a book. Not me! The more stops, the better. My reason for traveling is to see as much of the world as possible while my health is good.

The songs on the videos include:

Greenland – Amid the Falling Snow by Enya

Iceland – Long, Long, Journey by Enya

Dover – There’ll be Blue Birds over the White Cliffs of Dover by Glenn Miller

I download most of my music from http://mp3.walmart.com/store/home. Their prices are compatible and they have a huge selection from which to choose. You can purchase a single song or the entire album. Enya is one of my favorite artists. Are you familiar with Sarah Brightman – she is another great singer with some wonderful music. Check out her website http://www.sarah-brightman.com

As for iceberg sightings in Greenland, our transatlantic cruise left Copenhagen toward the end of September and there were still plenty of icebergs in the long fjord leading to Qaqortog, so I’m sure there will be lots of them to see in mid-July.

Find a seat on the aft deck, put your feet up, and have a great cruise. Be sure and wear your jacket while berg-watching. Yes, it will be cold on-deck!

When I was in Alaska I bought these great jackets which I now take with me .What a bargain at 20$ I wore them in Spring here ...not that warm yet to walk my furry baby ROCKY ..my ADORABLe puggle ..I am going to miss him He is so cute .He comes on my chair when I am at the computer and puts his head on my shoulder ...he is such a darling .If he sees me getting ready to go out He lies on the threshold of my bedroom with one eye open .He keeps an eye on me He does not move until I put on shoes Then he is up like a flash GOD forbid I should go anywhere without him .He has even crossed the border a few times when we go to the States.I bring his little bed He is most comfortable and oh so pleasant I LOVE MY POOCHIE BABY!!!

I do look forward to enjoying CALM days at SEa .I agree with you I want to see the world But I love both seadays and port days

Perhaps one day we will take the same cruise

Happy travels

Pat & Len,

You have booked two great cruises and are in for wonderful treats.

We spent several days in China prior to boarding the Diamond Princess in Bejing for our cruise to Bangkok. I have several videos of Beijing sightseeing, the Summer Palace & Great Wall and one of the Terra Cotta Worriers in Xian.

I have several videos of shore excursions taken during our Sapphire Princess cruise from Sydney to Los Angles. These include: Sydney, Ackland, Fiji, Pago Pago, Papeete, Bora Bora and Honolulu. I hope you plan on lunch with Tisa at the Barefoot Bar in Pago Pago. This was a really fun day. Another must do is a Motu Picnic with Patrick the Bora Bora. This was of the most fantastic days I’ve ever spent in all my travels. Bora Bora is one of the most beautiful places on the planet.

Please send a private email to cruzertoo@windstream.net if you have trouble finding my youtube channel or to ask any questions you might have about any of these excursions.

Happy Travels,
