languageartslady Posted March 5, 2009 #1 Share Posted March 5, 2009 I was just wondering if anyone remembers the types of slot machines they have on Solstice? One of my favorite parts of cruising is to play the slots, and I like the silly slot machines, with the crazy animations. Like one called "Texas Tea." Another one was called "Hellcat," or at least I think it was... Anyone know what types they have?

Rare Texed Posted March 6, 2009 #6 Share Posted March 6, 2009 I was just wondering if anyone remembers the types of slot machines they have on Solstice? As I remember, they are the kind that takes all of your money!
languageartslady Posted March 6, 2009 Author #7 Share Posted March 6, 2009 That's true. I'm quite sure I'll find one of the machines willing to take all of my gambling budget.

Another one was called "Hellcat," or at least I think it was... I vaguely remember some slots that gave you a cattle roundup or a stampede every once in a while. It would be a certain number of spins with increased payouts or something like that. The machine animation would change from the normal display and there would be different sounds. As an earlier poster suggested, the sole purpose of the slot machine is to take your money. Some of them can be more amusing  as they go about their job. That sounds just like the goofy, time-and-money wasting type I like! It's a ridiculous thing to focus on, but it's the only time I get anywhere near slots. Infi Posted March 6, 2009 #11 Share Posted March 6, 2009 There is a whole row of penny slots with the goofy names in the casino. Royal motif, barnyard motif, you name it, it's there. They're near the bar where the casino opens out onto the shopping boulevard. I should know, I've visited most of them. :D
Denny01 Posted March 6, 2009 #12 Share Posted March 6, 2009 I have another idea. Instead of sticking those coins into a slot machine and watching the crazy goings-on, how about cruising with us and you can buy me funny drinks with lots of umbrellas in them and I'll sit and tell you lots of Navy Sea Stories. The more 'coins' (drinks) you stick in me, the better the Sea Stories get. Some of them may have actually occurred - at least to somebody. That way, you get to watch a crazy Sailor tell big whoppers and I get free drinks! Remember, the only time I lie is when my lips are moving. What an idea!! Yes, I have noticed that if you do provide some silly drinks to people, you get some crazy stories... but I'll bet my gambling budget is waaaay too low to keep anyone happy drinking, especially at $7.95 or more a drink. I only spend about $10 a day. So I like the silly animations, as they take up time so I get to spend more time playing.
Ships R Great Posted March 6, 2009 #14 Share Posted March 6, 2009 I call that little slot where you put your money a "shredder". It takes your bill, shreds it and you never see it again. But they can be fun.
languageartslady Posted March 6, 2009 Author #15 Share Posted March 6, 2009 Oh, they definitely do that. Which is why I am glad that I have no access to any in my normal life. But last time, I walked away with 800 nickels ($40), and I actually STOPPED, so I came out ahead! And those machines that have the hundreds of quarters on that shelf that pushes in and out, and always seems like it's about to fall? I got $75 in cash, two t-shirts, a $5 casino chip, and a chip for a free drink. I am MUCH better at playing those things. But they still, in the end, just eat cash. But in an entertaining way! BINGO irritates me, because I am not ever close, and I'm out WADS of cash. Never again.
