nigkar Posted March 5, 2009 #1 Share Posted March 5, 2009 we will be visiting Barados on what will be our 1st ever cruise. Has anyone any information of things to do.We will be in port until 11pm. I was thinking maybe a beach in the morning, and then maybe some shopping or a nice harbour in the after noon.We would like something close to port and be able to use public transport if pos. Any information will be greatly appreciated Thanks Nigkar
Rare mexicobob Posted March 7, 2009 #2 Share Posted March 7, 2009 Go on the Silvermoon. Worth every penny. Outstanding excursion. Something you will enjoy and always remember. We went in June 2008 and look forward to going again. MexicoBob
bajan queen Posted March 7, 2009 #3 Share Posted March 7, 2009 Take a taxi to Brandons/Malibu beach ,you will see it as you sail into Barbados,it is a five min drive from the ship,if you go to Bridgetown, that is a five min drive from the ship, but in the opposite direction of Brandons,,you may find your ship has a tour to Malibu, don't think you will get public transport from the ship, many have walked into Bridgetown from the ship. Another nice place would be the Boatyard, that would be about a 10min drive,if you like walking, you could walk through B/Town,over the bridge to the Boatyard. B/Town has one main street,Broad Street ,if you go over the bridge there is a couple of nice cafe's where you could sit and have lunch or just a couple of drinks,it's right by the where the boats are,a great spot to sit and watch the world go by in Barbados. hope this is of some help. luvocean9 Posted March 7, 2009 #6 Share Posted March 7, 2009 There is a very inexpensive bus system, but I have never experienced it. Just search the internet for it.

cindygad Posted March 8, 2009 #8 Share Posted March 8, 2009 We did silvermoon a year ago and loved it.We booked it ourselves from website. It was 87.50 for us. We snorkeled with sea turtles then snorkeled over a ship wreck. Ate barbecue chicken, swordfish, cheesy macaroni, coleslaw, garlic bread and rice and beans. Had beer, rum and pina coladas. We left dock ant 0900 and was back at 230. http://www.silvermoonbarbados.com/index.htm
MNFreeze Posted March 11, 2009 #9 Share Posted March 11, 2009 I also recommend Small Cats. They were great last year and we are doing them again in about two weeks. They are $85 a person with all you can drink and a wonderful lunch. If you don't want to do the lunch you can do a 3 hour tour but I don't know the price on that. We swam with the turtles and over the ship wreck. Nice because their boat holds no more than 12 people.
