photojunkieEMT Posted March 10, 2009 #5 Share Posted March 10, 2009 Let me know if you can get to the bottom without a smile on your face. I laugh so hard everytime because when I sit and grab my ankles to go down, I go so fast I can't keep hold of my ankles and have actually all but flipped onto my belly going that fast. Aplmac Posted March 10, 2009 #13 Share Posted March 10, 2009 Will they let you take an underwater camera down with you? Not sure I'm coordinated enough to snap a pic on the way down though LOL Do the slide once or twice to get used to it, before attempting any shots. When you feel you're confident enough, then take the U/W camera with you and try to click off maybe 3 or 4 on the way down. It's a 200ft. long ride on Carnival Victory so you have the time to "reload and shoot again" ! :) .
TheVegasMan Posted March 10, 2009 #14 Share Posted March 10, 2009 Is there a weight limit to go on? Ie.. can a toddler go on? Can an adult go with the toddler? No weight limit that I know of. One at a time and 42" or 48" minimum height requirement. So, unless your toddler is from that African tribe with freakishly tall people, no, it can not go. pe4all Posted March 10, 2009 #15 Share Posted March 10, 2009 They are pretty strict with the ht. requirements on the slide, and will not allow you to ride "double" down with a toddler. There is an attendent at the top watching the hts and spacing going down the slide. Most people's feet "flip" up a bit as the hit the bottom trough, and I would think keeping a grip on a small child would be a bit dangerous to both of you. I find that if I lay on my back, and arch a bit (butt up a few inches) I go tearing down the slide. My kids crack up everytime they see their 50+ year old mom on the slide! Aplmac Posted March 10, 2009 #16 Share Posted March 10, 2009 Right at the start where you wait your turn there's a sign-post with a horizontal arrow saying.. You have to be this tall >> ---- << to use the waterslide. .

Gopher82 Posted March 10, 2009 #20 Share Posted March 10, 2009 I haven't been on a slide on a ship YET (Freedom in July) but at most water parks the best way to get some speed is lay on your back, cross your legs at the ankle, use your one heel, and shoulder blades to lift you bum off the slide... the less of you touching the slide the faster you go... Aplmac Posted March 10, 2009 #21 Share Posted March 10, 2009 ..whew........it was fun..........but never again........lol lol I had to do it, just once...but found it a bit too long for a 59-yr.old. It was going OK until that very last bit --- a more-than-360degree turn where the G-forces build up and then dumped unceremoniously into what seemed like awfully salt water..ugh. I told my wife not to go,that she wouldn't like it(she was glad) but I must say I saw lotsa people my age going time and again!! I'd like to do another, shorter, less twisty-turny slide. I think Victory's slide was a bit much for this first-timer :o
