Info for St Petersburg tours

We are looking to do a two day tour with SPB tours. I Have been in conact with Viktoria many times and she responds ASAP every time. We are in the process of booking the tour and they have asked for our Passport number and DOB. Is this common practice from all the tour companies to secure a Russian Visa??? Before I give out certain confidential info, I want to know if it is the norm for this excursion???

Yes I think they need the info for the Group VISA.

Yes it is. I had to provide this info last year for the tour we booked with Alla.

Yes this is normal. They need this information because they get you your visa.
