Signatures and Prime 7

Recommended Posts

Next month we will be on Voyager (Reykjavik to Southhampton ), our first Regent Cruise. Is there a limit to the # of nights you can dine at the specialty restaurants ? Is wine included ? What about tipping?

Regent will let you book 1 night in each specialty restaurant (Signatures and Prime 7) on-line prior to sailing. On-board, you can book additional nights on a space-available basis. Their basic goal is to let each passenger dine in each venue once per 7 night cruise (each venue seats ~100, ship carries 700...straight-forward math). Prime 7 is new and "hot" so you may not average more than once per week until the novelty wears off. Signatures has been around for a while so you might do a bit better. Another technique that we've had success with in the past is to check at the restaurant as the seatings begin. If they have a no-show, you can get in. Since Compass Rose (the main dining room) is open seating at any time, if the technique above doesn't pan out, you just head to Compass Rose that evening.

Wine is included in all dining rooms on Regent. Since they've gone all-inclusive, it is actually included anytime, any place. As casual/moderate wine drinkers, we feel the offered wines are just fine. There is a wine list of premium wines available in you want that bottle of Dom.

Tipping is included throughout the ship and not expected anywhere on Regent (except the spa which is apparently a seperate contractor). They mean it...you won't feel like anyone's hand is out. The usual advice if you want to recognize exceptional service, especially if it is across the board, is to make a donation to the crew fund. But again, not expected (and you have to ask...they won't tell you about this).

Enjoy your cruise!

I believe on this cruise you're allowed 1 booking at Signatures and 1 at Prime 7. Yes, wine and cocktails are included and so is tipping.

Unless the policy has changed recently, if there is availabilty in Signatures or Prime 7, you can book a second (or third) time. This is unlikely to occur with Prime 7, but certainly could with Signatures!
