Can you cash traveler's checks on ship?

Recommended Posts

In our 40+ cruises have always carried T checks and been able to cash them in the casino, but I am thinking that it might be possible at the Customer Service desk also, although I've never done it there.

Along the same lines as the first question, but a little more specific... I'm taking a Mediterranean cruise next month, and I'm wondering if they'll cash travellers cheques in euros? (To be perfectly clear, I have EUR-denominated travellers cheques, not USD-denominated.) I didn't realize until recently that all ships operate using USD no matter where they sail, but I'm hoping that they'll have euros on board since that's what I'll need for the ports.

Thank you.

And here I thought that I was being so clever in buying my EUR gradually over the last several months whenever EUR/CAD dipped lower. (I work in FX, and have rates in front of me all day long.)

I think that I'll be swinging by some banks on port days then, where a 100EUR TC gives me 100EUR. Thank you very much for the response.
