What amenities do you get in the bathroom?

We are trying to figure out what toiletries to bring. Are the amenities standard in each room, or is it like Carnival where it is a grab bag of what you get and you don't get any more when you use them? TIA!

and lotion. loved all the products (shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, 2 soap bars) except didn't care for the scent of the lotion. hair dryer is in desk/vanity drawer in cabin.

Was the lotion also elemis? What was the scent like. Trying very hard to only take bare minimum as I will be hauling things pre cruise. Princess uses something that had a quite unusual, for me very nasty smell and we never used any of it in Dec. Are elemis products sold in the US. If so where?

The products included:

1.7 ounce bottle - Pure Shine Shampoo - infused with the aroma of Lime, Basil, and Grapefruit.

1.7 ounce bottle - Pro-Vitamin Conditioner - a citrus experience that replenishes with conditioning Vitamin B5 Panthenol.

1.7 ounce bottle - Sharp Shower and Bath Gel - an aroma-therapeutic blend of Mint, Charmonile, Wild Marjoram, Nettle and Thyme in a Mineral rich Sea Salt base.

1.7 ounce bottle of Vitamin Rich-Body Lotion - infused with Vitamin-rich Wheat Germ, Carrot and Sweet Almond Oil.

For the Face: Citrus Soap Slice - pure Glycerin soap is lightly infused with the aroma of Grapefruit, Basil, Clove and Lime.

For the Body: pure zest cleansing soap - infused with nature's own Lime, Clove Leaf, Lavender and Rosemary Extracts in Palm Oil.

The conditioner is very thick -- very hard to get out of the bottle.

DH had a reaction to the Elemis products when it was first introduced. So now we have to bring our own toiletries.

Is the hair dryer the type that would hold a diffuser for curly hair, or is it a wall mounted unit like those on Celebrity? We are travelling on the Volendam. Are the amenities the same on every ship?

Thanks,

N.

I often react to cosmetics and skin care stuff but have never had a problem with Elemis. Some of the best facials I've had have been with these products. Bodes well for the trip :)

Yes. Every cabin; every ship.

On the Volendam (on all the S- and R-class ships) there is a wall-mounted dryer in the bathroom, left over from pre-SOE days. It still comes in handy to clean off the mirror.

But every cabin on every ship has a hand-held hair dryer, of the pretty strong variety.

Last November on the Noordam (our 3rd HAL cruise), we were told that shower gel was not being given out due to cutbacks. We had shower gel on our other 2 HAL cruises, so we didn't bring any in November. We had to "coax" our room steward to "scrounge up" some for us. He came up with 2 bottles for the 10 days, and asked us not to tell anybody that he had given it to us. At Half Moon Cay, we asked cruisers from the Westerdam (also at HMC that day) if they were being given shower gel. They said they were. Anyone else experience this on the Noordam or any other HAL ship? Any recent cruisers not receive shower gel?

There was ample shower gel on both my January Noordam, and February Veendam cruises.

Is it possible that a shipment didn't arrive to replenish the supply for your cruise?
