Scoops free???

Sounds like a good new free item, but the scoops ice cream treats we paid for last year on CB were humungous (enough for 2) creations, shakes, brownie sundaes etc. not soft serve cones.

Two different things entirely. My husband loved it, but I would rather get the free stuff even if it is a soft serve cone.

Scoops creations were wonderful and worth every cent to DH and me. We will miss them, but we will give the soft-serve a chance!

Just read on another thread that Scoops is now offering vanilla and chocolate (with sprinkles) free of charge!!! Anyone else run into this? ( I think it was on the Caribbean Princess).

 

I was booking an August cruise on the CB this past weekend, and a Princess district sales rep. happened to be working a display at the agency. She whispered to us that, "The soft serve chocolate and vanilla ice cream is now free, but they are keeping it quiet." Enjoy!

Just returned from the Caribbean Princess June 2-11 sailing and Scoops was free. Soft IC in the afternoons. After 6, hard IC is served. We went to buffet and got a banana and made banana splits. Everyone thought we had paid for them !

I've been reading the CruiseCritic boards in anticipation of my upcoming Princess cruise. Found out from doing so that Princess has changed their ice cream policy and found your above post when I looked into that. You're the only one who's posted that they're serving hard packed ice cream at Sundaes(formerly Scoops) after 6pm. Can I ask a few questions?

 

Is there still someone behind the counter serving the soft serve before 6pm and hard packed after 6pm?

 

Do you happen to have any photos of Sundaes now, day or night?

 

Is there a choice of more than one flavor of the hard pack ice cream after 6pm?

 

Do you recall when they open and close Sundaes?

The ice cream on Ruby Princess at the Scoops counter is free, but it is soft ice cream chocolate or vanilla from a machine. It is not the same ice cream that was previously sold in Scoops.
