Voyager crowded in summer???

Recommended Posts

My husband was talking to someone who knew someone else that went on the Voyager and they said that it was very crowded and long lines. Especially that we are going in July. My husband is very worried about this. He does not want to be spending alot of money to be upset the whole 9 days of the cruise.

Please say it isn't so - it is a large ship !!

cruise ships almost always sail full. Doesnt make any difference when you go. You will see lots of kids though as with any summer cruise

We were on Explorer of the Seas over Easter week. There were 1,200 kids onboard and the ship was full. We had no problems at all with crowds or with unruly kids! It was a terrific week! You will be fine too!

I was on Voyager on a holiday sailing. There were over 1000 kids aboard. They commandeered the elevators and pressed every button, they were racing thru the hallways screaming unsupervised and were hellions in general. For me, it was a nightmare.

No more Voyager, no more holiday sailings.

While it was the fault of the parents, the cruise staff was poor at enforcing their own rules. Kids were in the Champagne bar swinging around on bar stools, etc.

RCI should take a lesson from Princess and limit the number of kids per sailing. Or offer adults only sailings so we will not suffer for parents who bring their kids aboard and then let them run wild.

I hope you have better luck.

I have been on both Explorer and Voyager and the only lines I can remember were for embarkation, disembarkation and the midnight buffet. The other time that there is a crowd is for the parades. We have found that there is so much to do on these ships that people are pretty much spread out. I was concerned about the same thing when I booked our cruise on the Explorer because my husband had not been on a cruise before, he hates crowds and I wanted him to enjoy the cruise so that we could do it again. Well - it went so well that we have been on three cruises in three years! There were a lot of children on our August cruise but they were very well behaved. You should be fine. I hope this helps!

I am a teacher and love children, but NOT WHEN I AM ON VACATION!!! We cruised 2 times in the summer and NEVER AGAIN!!! Kids and teenagers everywhere....and most of the time they were unsupervised, hanging out all over the place, and simply loud and obnoxious. I had no patience for them. There were tons of groups of families and truly crowds everyplace. The boat did not even seem to be as clean in the summer...lots of trash everywhere and just seemed messier. Now I dont care and would rather take a week off somehow and go on "off" times. We have done 1 in May and it was absolutely lovely and the ship was immaculate. We go again this May. A vacation is a time to get away from reality and relax...I cant do that with overcrowding. Hope if you go in Summer things will be just fine...I just know that I have done both and it is "off season" for us.......
