4th of July

Does Holland America do anything special on the ships for the 4th of July? The 4th happens to be a sea day for us.

If you are asking if they celebrate the United States' Independence Day, I would venture a guess that there would be something done only if they are in U.S. waters.

 

Remember that there is a 4th of July everywhere in the world. ;)

I was on the Rotterdam in the middle of the Atlantic one year on the 4th of July. There was a fun party pooside that afternoon, with a good bar-b-que. Lots of games were played and prizes were given out. There was a good crowd, and this went on for a long time.

We all had a blast.

A few days earlier, also in the middle of the Atlantic, there was a smaller, more subdued Canada Day celebration.

Most of the time we did have celebrations. There were even times where they brought out little hotdogs and hamburgers in warming trays. Of course usual games and decorations were put out as well.

That sounds like fun! We usually celebrate with a family barbeque, then we pile into the car for a local fireworks display!

We were on the Prinsendam off the coast of Portugal and Spain on July 4 and they did a bang-up job of decorating the main dining room with American flags and all sorts of red, white and blue trinkets. They also decorated the dining room for Canada Day on July 1st.
