Any itinerary you are NOT interested in?

Ya know, I can't come up with anything!

I'm up for pretty much anywhere. Too many places we haven't been and I'd gladly go back to anywhere we have been. Guess I'm not particular enough.

If I have to choose, I'm not in a huge hurry to go back to the Mexican Riviera. I enjoyed it very much but we'll probably hit a lot of other places before we'll look into going back.

I am not interested in Bermuda. I also am not all that interested in the itinerary on our upcoming Eurodam cruise mainly because we have been to each of the ports many times. I decided to try something new and really enjoy the ship as my destination so we have a retreat cabana and I plan on enjoying all of the offerings on board.

not interested in going to the Caribbean - ever again. Too crowded with ships that are carrying too many passengers and overrunning what once were charming islands. As an itinerary of interest, this is one that has been ruined by too much and too many!!:(

Aside from Copper John's remarks about Somalia, I'm going to say there's not much of Africa you can cruise that interests me. I know there are some wonderful extended shore excursions. I'm not convinced it's worth cruising there, then have such limited time and rushed flights. Sounds exhausting!

...and SeaProponent posted while I typed. Interesting example.

No interest - Caribbean and Mexican Riviera. Done both several times but only as apart of a longer cruise. I do love parts of the Caribbean, but it is one place I prefer land vacations at some of the wonderful, still secluded places there.

I have cruised (two different cruises) the length of both the east and west coasts of Africa, with many ports. I found it totally fascinating and loved every minute, BUT for many ports once was enough. I got such a different understanding of places, particularly the 7 countries in West Africa we stopped in. Fascinating for me, but they also gave me a renewed appreciation for what we opportunities most of us have in America. (Versus the total lack of opportunities for most of the folks there.)

Seaproponent and Fann1sh, I understand your comments. However, I would rank our cruise experiences in Africa among our most interesting and educational. We elected to stick with ship tours in West Africa so our experiences did not involve being scared. Even when our bus was held "hostage" for more money in one country we were not scared, but concerned about how it would end. (It ended just fine thanks to a strong personality HAL escort on board, and what tales we had to tell.) We got to see so much through long bus rides, but felt safe. Even though the buses had no air conditioning and the windows were all open, and the speaker systems did not work, we had such meaningful and moving experiences and memories. Now for wildlife, land tours are the way to go. For learning about people and cultures - the cruises were ultra educational even through day trips.

Sorry to hear the negs about the Caribbean :( We've got 14 days planned there this winter, have never been, and are looking forward to it. Now I'm a bit concerned. I loathe crowds and "touristy" stuff.

As for itins I'm not interested in -- Australia/New Zealand. If I'm going to fly all that way, I want more time onshore than what a cruise offers.

Since you have not been there before, you are sure to enjoy the Caribbean. If you will note, those of us who posted negative on that itinerary are mostly a case of "been there, done that" who are underwhelmed with repeating. For me, I am glad I went when the islands were not overrun by too many passengers from too many ships and the beaches did not remind me of Coney Island on a summer weekend!!!:)

Hmmmm, can I say "there's 'damming' with faint praise"? :D

We are doing the Costa Maya, Belize, Roatan, Puerto Cortes, Santo Tomas de Castillo itin -- I picked it because I was hopeful it would be less busy..... was I overly optimistic?

Not only can I not think of anywhere I would NOT want to visit, I cannot think of anywhere that I would Not want to go on America's Orient Express (train).

Right now I am not hot on going to Alaska, but that could change at any time.

I love to travel and if I had the money, would go almost anywhere!

I suppose it depends on where you come form also,I like to do the mediterranean, but hate the Turkish coast, being from england it is very close to us,but cool in the winter,so our options are really the carribbean for the winter.Which is seen as very glamorous, but for those in the US it is very unglamorous, like spain and turkey is for us in the UK!

Well, you'll be doing a heck of a lot better there as opposed to going to Nassau, Charlotte Amalie, Cozumel, Aruba and Sint Maarten

Since we enjoy shipboard life and sunshine in winter, we still enjoy the Caribbean, especially the southern Caribbean, even though we sometimes do not go ashore in ports where we don't have any interest.

It's still nice to be on board and enjoying the sea.

If the focus of this thread is exclusively on ports of call, I can see why many would be tired of the Caribbean ports and, to some extent, Alaska.

That itinerary will be less busy that an eastern Caribbean sailing. Just because we don't care to do the Caribbean, doesn't mean that it isn't a great destination for others. Have a wonderful time.

I almost didn't post to this thread for this very reason. A frequent poster here has NO interest in Alaskan cruises. Yet, in the past, this person has posted to a number of threads about Alaskan cruises just to say that they have NO interest in Alaskan cruises. This dampens the enthusiasm of cruiser who wants to sail to Alaska and I was afraid this thread could have the same effect. Apparently it has.

Thanks, Copper10-8, DFD1, Mary Ellen!!! Seriously, any place I can get for 14 days that is not freezing cold, covered in snow and ice, and dark, is an improvement. We so enjoyed the Sea of Cortez portion of our Mexican cruise -- I know DH is hoping that the Carib itin will be comparable.

Mary Ellen, as for posters who don't want to go to Alaska, there are enough of us who go back again and again that I think we'd FAR outweigh one or two voices when a new cruiser asks about AK cruises :D
