Parking at Port of Tyne, Newcastle

Hi there

Has anyone sailed out of Port of Tyne and parked anywhere other than the Port please. Seems a bit on the expensive side at £12 per day.

Any suggestions or information gratefully received.

Many thanks

Glenda

Hi just an idea, do not know where you are travelling from , but a airport hotel stay plus 15 days parking is from £86 to £99 plus taxi might be cheaper then 12.00 per day. We have had parking there before but it came at a nominal charge with thompsons. Try internetting for hotels close by that give free parking close to the terminal.

Good luck

Spoke to FO last week and was told that they are offering parking at a discounted rate of £7.00 per day. When you enter the car park you will be issued with a ticket and you show this at check in and they validate the ticket and charge the fee to your onboard account.

For those passenger sailing from Newcastle if you are parking for the full term of the cruise you will be directed to the long term car park & will then be returned by shuttle bus to the International Passenger Terminal. Cabin baggage will be collected from the car park. When you arrive at the car park you will need to take a ticket from the barrier. You must then at the cruise terminal hand this ticket into the check in staff. The check in staff will validate the ticket & then you must retain your ticket to insert into the exit barrier at the end of the cruise. Your onboard account will be charged a daily rate of £7.00 and you must settle this bill at the end of your cruise before you disembark the vessel. You do not need to pre-book your car. (This is correct at time of posting and subject to change).

Is this for all passengers or just for those who booked direct with Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines please?
