wasiii Posted August 14, 2009 #2 Share Posted August 14, 2009 What is your favorite time of the year to cruise and why? If you ask me, anytime is a good time .....although, hurricane season is the cheapest, so I'm there! That way, with saving money on the cruise, I can spend my money in other ways on the ship. wasiii
BlueC5Kitten Posted August 14, 2009 #3 Share Posted August 14, 2009 I voted anytime, but I most prefer sailing in January, after the holidays are over and the kiddies are back in school.
littlesnit Posted August 14, 2009 #4 Share Posted August 14, 2009 Spring and Fall. Fewer kids on board.

GottaLuvCruising Posted August 14, 2009 #6 Share Posted August 14, 2009 We most enjoy cruising during spring for the best weather, but happy to sail anytime!
Poseidon1 Posted August 14, 2009 #7 Share Posted August 14, 2009 This will be our third December cruise. It's our 35th anniversary. The water is still warm, the drinks cold, and the company is fantastic!
jayscore Posted August 14, 2009 #8 Share Posted August 14, 2009 We've always booked late in April. There are a couple of weeks in there where the prices are right,(Spring break over), weather is better for traveling, and no "return to the cold" syndrome. ;)
afcj1 Posted August 14, 2009 #9 Share Posted August 14, 2009 Love October. Wonderful weather and less kids.
glrounds Posted August 14, 2009 #10 Share Posted August 14, 2009 Never cruise SUMMER or HOLIDAYS. Usually Fall, but Winter and Spring at times. Solo is more reasonable and cruise destinations are pleasantly warm during these periods instead of blazingly hot. ;) Never seem to have ship overrun with kids during these periods also. shadoo Posted August 14, 2009 #11 Share Posted August 14, 2009 We like late Winter, early Spring. Preferably not school vacations. We have also cruised in fall and mid winter, but prefer late Spring.
mdorbert Posted August 14, 2009 #12 Share Posted August 14, 2009 I prefer cruising in September... Very few kids (if any) and since it's hurricane season, it's MUCH cheaper... Win-Win for me! :D Michelle
portlandpete Posted August 14, 2009 #13 Share Posted August 14, 2009 Late spring because planning a cruise gets us through a long, cold winter. We like to go after kids get through their spring vacation but before they start their summer vacation. We love kids but since ours are now grown we don't have to vacation during those times anymore like we always had to.
BlueJacketsFan1 Posted August 14, 2009 #14 Share Posted August 14, 2009 We sail in late October to celebrate our anniversary. Thinking that it maybe a little less crowded and fewer school aged kids. Hoping that it might just be a little more relaxing.
Kitt Grey Posted August 14, 2009 #15 Share Posted August 14, 2009 I voted anytime, but I most prefer sailing in January, after the holidays are over and the kiddies are back in school. I love getting out of the midwest in the dead of winter. As a solo traveler the kids being back in school is a plus although most kids I have met on cruises have been great. Friggie Posted August 14, 2009 #16 Share Posted August 14, 2009 I voted anytime. It really does not bother me if kids are on board, they are hardly seen anyway due to the fantastic kids programs. I am shocked at the amount of ppl that comment they prefer to cruise when less kids onboard, kids deserve holidays too. Oh, and no I do not have young kids anymore. It is nice to see them all spiffied up on elegant nights just as the adults.
PA Dutchman Posted August 14, 2009 #17 Share Posted August 14, 2009 Late Jan or early Feb. Get out of the cold and less rug rats.:D
UpstateCruizer Posted August 14, 2009 #18 Share Posted August 14, 2009 What is your favorite time of the year to cruise and why? If you ask me, anytime is a good time I answered anytime as well because I'd never turn down the ability to cruise. If you had asked when we typically book cruises I'd have said spring and fall. (this year is out first fall cruise and I'm looking forward to that pattern for future years)
marshhawk Posted August 14, 2009 #19 Share Posted August 14, 2009 MWA is summer and fall only. Ever try to swim off the cost of Maine? There's usually one good day in August to do so. All the sailings I'm looking at for the future, any time is the right time, but I agree, the less unbehaved children, the better.

family cruisers Posted August 14, 2009 #23 Share Posted August 14, 2009 We love the fall. October, November time frame. Nice weather and less kids sailing. Temperatures still hot and water still warm enough to swim. Very relaxing.
sillysailor 1955 Posted August 14, 2009 #24 Share Posted August 14, 2009 Spring and Fall. Fewer kids on board. I'll second that!;)
cruisergal 1 Posted August 15, 2009 #25 Share Posted August 15, 2009 We love cruising in the winter, end of Feb, beginning of March. It's a nice break from the snow winter. It's also quieter, and less kids on board. But any time is a good time to cruise:)
