I read in another thread that on Equinox you don't get vests, just watch a video or something. I can't speak for any of the other ships.

 

On Solstice we did have to wear the lifevest but didn't have to stand out on deck -- sat in one of the dining rooms and watch a video.

On Solstice, our lifeboat station (last November) was in the Rendezvous lounge, immediately outside of the Murano's restaurant. We had to wear our life jackets for a short while, and we simply watched the lifeboat presentation on a tv, all the while remaining seated in the lounge.

 

Much better than lining up like cattle out on the hot deck.
