KruiseT Posted August 19, 2009 #1 Share Posted August 19, 2009 We've just found out that our staterooms on the Crown Princess are RIGHT by the elevators. Will noise be a problem?
wwinfl91 Posted August 19, 2009 #2 Share Posted August 19, 2009 We have had cabins by elevators a number of times and have never had a problem with noise from the elevators. You will occasionally hear noise from people getting on and off the elevators or heading to their cabins. The advantage is you are close to the elevators so you can get around the decks of the ships faster. Have a great next cruise.
Crissy699 Posted August 19, 2009 #3 Share Posted August 19, 2009 There is a possibility for noise in ANY room ;) We've been tucked away in what we *thought* was a quiet little corner of the ship...would have been great, except for our neighbor who liked to SLAM his bunk back up against the wall (against our heads) at 5am...ughhhhh Have a great time, you'll have easy exit to anywhere you want to go! :D
jefa Posted August 19, 2009 #4 Share Posted August 19, 2009 I've asked the same question, and the concensus is, that no, we will not hear noise from the lifts, just maybe from the people using them, so I will take earplugs just in case!!!
cb at sea Posted August 20, 2009 #5 Share Posted August 20, 2009 Nope--being by the elevators and stairs is a HUGE plus! Very convenient...no noise issues that you won't get in ANY cabin!
uppitycats Posted August 20, 2009 #6 Share Posted August 20, 2009 All the cabins I've ever cruised in have been right by the elevators -- usually those are handicap-accessible cabins, and I use a wheelchair. We've never noticed any noise at all...sometimes late at night (or early morning!) an occasional "ping" when the elevator reaches that deck, but otherwise, all is quiet.
