skis2 Posted February 9, 2013 #1 Share Posted February 9, 2013 Does anyone have a link to a spreadsheet for the drink packages? I saw it on here once and didn't bookmark it. It was a daily drink calculator. Thanks, Ryan

BruinsFan75 Posted February 11, 2013 #8 Share Posted February 11, 2013 Except you won't get any service. As soon as the crew sees the premium package sticker or ship card endorsement, they will avoid you like the plague. Cash is king with Celebrity crews... Also, buy the package on the ship after you get your ship card. Many people have had problems when they buy it beforehand and it isn't on your account when you get to the ship and you end up paying twice for it. They won't do anything for you once you get on the ship.
Arubalover50 Posted February 11, 2013 #9 Share Posted February 11, 2013 We just got off Reflection Feb 9th. We purchased both classic and premium pkgs once we got on board. Had absolutely NO problem being served at any of the bars. Service was excellent in all respects.

I haven't seen any posts about people purchasing prior to boarding and then having to pay again on board due to no record of purchase. This would be most concerning. Where did read this? germanyboy Posted February 11, 2013 #12 Share Posted February 11, 2013 Bruinsfan75: I bought my premium package several months before my cruise, it showed up in all my online docs and my status was printed on my seapass when I got on. And no waiter or bartender ever tried to avoid me for my drink order. And they were all very happy to serve me no matter where or what I ordered, or if I tipped extra. I had to turn away the wine guy at MDR because he was coming to me faster than I could finish the drinks.
newcruisergal Posted February 11, 2013 #13 Share Posted February 11, 2013 Just off Summit with two premium packages and had the best bar service of any cruise, ever. Liked having pre-bought the package because then it was printed on our seapass card, as opposed to the sticker you get if you buy on board...we take our cards into the pool/hot tub so would be afraid we'd lose the sticker eventually. skis2 Posted February 11, 2013 Author #14 Share Posted February 11, 2013 Thanks for the info! I found one that I had previously saved to my computer. I tried to attach it. I hope it works... Has anyone come across a similar resource for Royal Caribbean? It looks like they started a drink package as well and we're looking at Oasis in November. Can you get a new card issued with the package printed on it instead of having a sticker? I have had a new card issued after misplacing one but I didn't have a liquor package. . Maybe it helps that we bring some $1 bills to hand over with our card in most instances. We would be doing that with or without the drink package, so it isn't an added expense for us. I was worried about this the first time we got the drink package and my worries were unnecessary.

None of this has happened to us, I have no idea what you mean by "cash is king" With the package they slide your card; without the package they slide the card, print out the receipt, wait for you to sign it, and file the receipt. If by "more service' you mean they have to work more, you are correct. Your comment about paying twice is questionable. If you get a receipt to sign, simply explain the situation with guest services. We have always purchased the premium package and have experienced nothing but GREAT service. Our experience could only be described as the complete opposite of your out of left field description. You must not be aware that Celebrity is a NO CASH cruise line with the exception of the casino games. You should use facts in your future posts. germanyboy Posted February 15, 2013 #24 Share Posted February 15, 2013 I think only packages purchased before the cruise get preprinted package info on it. Replacemaents get stickers and those purchased onboard do too,
BruinsFan75 Posted February 15, 2013 #25 Share Posted February 15, 2013 Wow, a lot of haters (or paid Celebrity shills) on this thread. With 3000+ passengers on a cruise ship it is very possible for different passengers to receive different levels of service. When a cruise line is under staffed, like this Celebrity cruise clearly was, some people won't get the service they PAID for. I and other members of my 200+ party did receive poor service. If you got great service, good for you. I simply shared my experience and what others that I know also observed. That is kind of the point of this website. Just because I had a different experience from you, doesn't mean I should be attacked or discredited. Yes, I am aware that Celebrity (and most cruise ships) are no cash - but not when it comes to tips -and there certainly was preference given to cash tippers. Personally I think the $25 dollars a day in automatic gratuities for 5 drinks is extremely generous. Some people may of drank more justifying a larger tip and that is fine. Since posting my original comment, the 10 people that I personally know that had problems with their pre-purchased drink plans were able to get a credit from Celebrity after sending them their pre-cruise confirmations of the purchase. So it is good that they eventually took care of the issue, but it still should of been something that could of been handled on the ship.
