Goodbye Seabourn Spirit

We arrived in Barcelona this morning following a great Atlantic crossing. With just a few days of poor weather.

The ship was in great condition with maintenance going on till the last day. Food and drink was as usual up to the " Seabourn" standard, and there was plenty of drinks had by all. It was great to catch up with so many of the ships crew and returning guests, we really felt like a family.

This morning we were sent off in style with a guard of honour by the crew and topped off with champagne and caviar. What wonderful people they are.

We just want to say thank you. We will miss her but look forward to continuing our adventures with Seabourn.

We have loved our time on Spirit and will miss her. I just don't think it will be the same sailing on her over at the "sailboat company".:eek::D Time for us to try one of the Big Sisters.

She was our first 14 years ago and will always have a special place in our hearts! Goodbye Seabourn Spirit!

We enjoyed our cruise just prior to the final crossing. The crew was spectacular. The food was outstanding. Time to plan a cruise on the larger ships.

What a great voyage that was! So many interesting and fun meetings with you and Phil, Henry & Steve, Jorg & Bitti and Sheila, and others too many to mention. Congratulations to CD Sophie and Asst CDs Judy and Clark _ they worked their socks off to make it special for us all.

Just spent a week in Paris post final Spirit crossing. Had some superb meals in Paris but I honestly think we ate just as well if not better on the Spirit. Chef Jes is simply the best. The whole crossing was a delight from beginning to end with the exception of two small children whose parents simply did not control them as they never do. Otherwise great from start to end. You never would have known she was leaving the fleet. Maintenance and service were as good as ever. It was truly sad to leave a triplet for the last time.

I too enjoyed meeting you and Mary, Alan. Hope we sail together again soon.

I think that Windstar have done a very good job on the modernisation of these lovely small ships.

The sun loungers look a lot more comfortable than the old Seabourn ones.

Let's wait to see if they get favourable reviews before we all get back on these beauties.

I agree. The hardware looks lovely. I just wish SB had put that same effort into the triplets and kept them.

Well the biggest problem the little sisters had -- their plumbing system -- is not something Windstar can fix.All of the new furnishings in the world won't make the one issue that has plagued the little sisters for years go away. And since they don't have the one thing that more than compensated for the problems , the wonderful Seabourn crew, I am not inclined to try them under the Windstar flag even if they have been gussied up.i do , however, think the one major change they will be making by taking out the pool and expanding the Verandah is a very smart move.

The setup of the club was odd with chairs that have their backs to the stage.
