denny1700 Posted March 19, 2017 #1 Share Posted March 19, 2017 I'm unclear from the deck plans whether there are deck chairs or lounge chairs on the different levels, or whether everything is taken up by cabins with verandas. I will have an inside cabin and would want to sit out at night and watch the stars, get some peace away from it all (casino, disco, etc.).
excitedofharpenden Posted March 19, 2017 #2 Share Posted March 19, 2017 Apart from the Promenade Deck (which has a few loungers) there are others set up obviously around the pool and also forward on deck 11, but if the weather is poor (e.g. windy) they'll tie these ones down. If the weather is good it's a very nice and peaceful spot of an evening.
comas Posted March 19, 2017 #3 Share Posted March 19, 2017 Hi, You can take the forward elevator to Deck 10 and then from outside there are steps up to Deck 11. Ideal for stargazing! We were on the Journey last June which was well equipped with sun loungers and sofas on Deck 11. I imagine the Quest is the same or similar. This is the only picture I have which is the pool area. Also very open to the sky. Sent from my iPad using Forums mobile app
marinaro44 Posted March 19, 2017 #4 Share Posted March 19, 2017 Deck 5 has about 15 to 18 deck chairs on each side. These are closest to the water so you do feel (and hear) that you are at sea
denny1700 Posted March 20, 2017 Author #5 Share Posted March 20, 2017 Thanks for all the responses. I'm just really torn between this and the Star Clipper/Star Flyer 7-day Aegean cruise in August (much hotter)...has anyone taken both and can compare the two? The Azamara is much larger (3x) and has more extensive facilities (gym). I'm wondering if getting on and off with 600 other people is a hassle or not. :)

It's always been very easy for me unless there has been an issue at the disembarkation port. There are no announcements now either. You are given a luggage tag with a number and you walk off the ship according to that number and the list that's sent to your cabin.

Not sure how you tolerate really hot temperatures. We were in the Aegean last June and the weather was much hotter than usual at that time of year. We had a wonderful cruise but the extreme heat did impact us as we found walking around for long periods totally exhausting.
village77 Posted March 20, 2017 #9 Share Posted March 20, 2017 We have travelled on both and there really is no comparison. Everything is better with Azamara but the Clippers are sailing boats and therefore are a different experience. We had no hassle getting on and off either vessel there were short queues well managed on both. Do ask if you have any specific questions.
