perditax Posted April 4, 2017 #1 Share Posted April 4, 2017 Has anyone tried one of these? http://amzn.to/2nRqhlG I'm thinking it'll be good to hang things to dry (bathing suits and hand-washed stuff), and maybe a second one in the closet to hang multiple tanks. I don't have it yet so not sure how bulky it'll be, but it seems like it should pack flat.
awhfy Posted April 4, 2017 #2 Share Posted April 4, 2017 No way I'm lugging that! I have one at home & it'll go into our donation pile as it's heavy, unwieldy to use & surely doesn't do what it's supposed to & I really wanted it to Work! SadieN Posted April 4, 2017 #3 Share Posted April 4, 2017 (edited) It'll work in the closet but not as a drying hangar. Big problem with that, the clothes will be close together, not allowing any air between the clothes, not allowing the clothes to dry. Look for an 'octopus'. A round or square hangar with clothespins and lots of spaces. Seen them at Ikea, Walmart and Target. My favorite ones come from Daiso. Could get inflatable hangars or use balloons. I use something similar to this at home. We air dry many of our clothes. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0001E839U/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1491323178&sr=8-3&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=drying+hangers&dpPl=1&dpID=41FvZiper9L&ref=plSrch Edited April 4, 2017 by SadieN
brunello22 Posted April 4, 2017 #4 Share Posted April 4, 2017 I prefer these: https://www.amazon.com/Honbay-Portable-Folding-Clothes-Hangers/dp/B01KBTS44I/ref=sr_1_4?s=home-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1491323288&sr=1-4&keywords=foldable+hangers or these: https://www.amazon.com/PENSINGWELL-Multi-functional-Telescopic-Foldable-Hangers/dp/B01ECBNFDG/ref=sr_1_18?s=home-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1491323288&sr=1-18&keywords=foldable+hangers
perditax Posted April 4, 2017 Author #5 Share Posted April 4, 2017 Thanks for all the additional links. I'm only out ten bucks on the first one and I have a lot of tanks at home anyway, but some of the other stuff looks interesting too. I usually travel in a small solo cabin on lines with no laundry (e.g., NCL) and I do end up hand-washing a few items, so being able hang them up (and bathing suits--don't like the shower line thing) would be cool. cb at sea Posted April 4, 2017 #6 Share Posted April 4, 2017 Hang the "odd" wet item from the air vent. Stick it on a hangar, and hang it from the cabin air vent. Dries in no time. The bathroom has no airflow that's sufficient for drying clothing.
Talex831 Posted April 4, 2017 #7 Share Posted April 4, 2017 I just clip the clothes/suits to the hangars and put them in the closet with space around each one. I keep the closet door open (unless it's rocky) at night. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
geocruiser Posted April 5, 2017 #8 Share Posted April 5, 2017 This might work http://www.householdessential.com/ecommerce/Carousel-dryer-20-clips.cfm?item_id=5339&parent=691 http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/80189663
MrsPete Posted April 23, 2017 #9 Share Posted April 23, 2017 I think it'd be hard to remove a tank top in the middle without knocking all the others off. I would not buy this product.
Rare ReneeFLL Posted May 1, 2017 #10 Share Posted May 1, 2017 Have you considered using magnetic hooks and hanging a hanger from each one? You can hang them right by the air vent. The ceilings and walls are magnetic. It's also a good way to hang a formal dress on the wall when it's to long for the closet. That's what we do. We use these two from Home Depot. This one is a bit of an overkill weight wise, but we didn't know how well they would work. http://www.homedepot.com/p/MASTER-MAGNETICS-65-lb-Magnetic-Pull-Hook-07580HD/202639939 http://www.homedepot.com/p/MASTER-MAGNETICS-Handi-Hook-20-lb-Magnetic-Pull-Hook-07218HD/202639937
mom4mom Posted May 9, 2017 #11 Share Posted May 9, 2017 This might work http://www.householdessential.com/ecommerce/Carousel-dryer-20-clips.cfm?item_id=5339&parent=691 http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/80189663 I used something similar last year in Italy and on our TA. The clips are real strong and I didn't have a problem getting one thing off without knocking it all off. I'm taking it again this year.
kb4683 Posted May 10, 2017 #12 Share Posted May 10, 2017 These are what we use. Since they are inflatable, they separate the front and back of the item to allow air flow. https://www.amazon.com/White-Inflatable-Hanger-2-pk/dp/B0002VQKWO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1494436243&sr=8-1&keywords=Inflatable+hanger
