Gareth75 Posted August 17, 2017 #1 Share Posted August 17, 2017 Hi . My wife & I have just come back from our first cruise , a taster 4 night cruise onboard the P&O Ventura . We Really enjoyed it . We are looking again for possibly going again in October half - term . Or next year . Any recommendations would be great. Key points that we liked was the entertainment & variety on the Ventura ( but 1st cruise so we don't know any different) . The convenience of sailing from Southampton was a big positive but would consider flying . Which cruise lines are the ones with the good onboard entertainment? Rare babs135 Posted August 17, 2017 #3 Share Posted August 17, 2017 One cruise and already you are hooked - welcome to the club :D Could do with a little more information so that we can help. Big/little ship, bursting with amenities/slightly more laid back, dressing up/down, port intensive or not, etc. etc. It's a big world out there!! Gareth75 Posted August 17, 2017 Author #4 Share Posted August 17, 2017 Thanks for the quick replies. We are a couple in our early 40s . My wife passion is theatre / musicals / singers. I also quite like most of what she likes but not everything. I quite like trying different activities on the ships
Rare Keith1010 Posted August 17, 2017 #5 Share Posted August 17, 2017 You are welcome. You really should take a look at Cunard since they have cruises out of Southampton and there entertainment should appeal to your wife based on what you have said. Good luck with this. Krazy Kruizers Posted August 17, 2017 #6 Share Posted August 17, 2017 Welcome to Cruise Critic. Do agree -- check out Cunard. You may also want to check out RCI.
Rare Essiesmom Posted August 17, 2017 #7 Share Posted August 17, 2017 If your wife is really passionate about music, you might try MSC. They have such a mix of nationalities that most of their entertainment is music, even including a portion of an opera. EM
Rare LHT28 Posted August 17, 2017 #8 Share Posted August 17, 2017 If you liked P & O try a longer cruise with them Celebrity & RCCL also sail from SOU Depends on where you want to go & how many days you have Talk to a TA in your area that deals with cruises to find one that suits your needs/wants Enjoy
