Man Overboard!

Who do we see in the report of the woman "falling" overboard? Why life boat chaser James Walker, of course!:(:(:(:( This man is a scourge on the human race.

I noticed his bald headed mug as well, and wasn't in the least bit surprised he got himself involved. If he can see financial gain for himself by inflating and twisting the facts of a situation, he will be first in line to recommend filing a lawsuit. A bottom dwelling lawyer of the lowest degree.

You cannot gear up the cruise industry on the basis that a single passenger might be a complete idiot. This is because it will seriously affect the 99.999% of people who are never going to do ridiculous things on board resulting in their falling off ships. Even if you completely enclosed the promenade deck and everybody's balcony you will still get people fall off the top deck of the atrium and dying at the bottom.

Disney are very much focused on children and I suspect they think higher proportions of children will have greater freedom on their ships and they are not as savvy. You have made no mention of cruise ship pool deaths in your "life saving campaign".

You have to be realistic in life and not try to save everyone in every potential accident situation.

Disney Cruise Line is the only cruise line that uses Man Overboard Technology. Is it because they are that much smarter or dumber then the rest of the industry?

Shak

Neither. They charge a premium for their cruises, sometimes 2 to 3 times as much as other cruise lines. The higher prices are partially a result of the additional cost of this technology. If all cruise ships included such technology - which doesn't do a lick of good TO PREVENT the incident in the first place - we would all be paying a higher price to cruise.

Considering the extremely small percentage of incidents compared to the number of passengers who cruise each year, the cost is prohibitively high. In 2014 almost 23,000,000 passengers enjoyed a cruise world wide. There were only 22 recorded man-overboard incidents that same year, and some of those were crew members, not passengers. That's less than 0.0001% of the passengers!! Each year falling coconuts killed more than 150 people!! Should every coconut tree have a detection system installed to alert the authorities when someone gets hit by a coconut???

It would be much more effective to remove all stairs and add more elevators to eliminate people falling down stairs and hurting themselves, a much more common incident. That way the cost of the improvements - elevators are a proven and reliable technology, unlike detection systems - would eliminate a much larger number of incidents.

People can fall down stairs, they can be deliberately pushed so they fall, and they can jump over the railings to try to hurt themselves (as a video link posted earlier shows). You would be much more helpful by pushing for the elimination of elevators instead of your stubborn defense of a virtually useless technology.

Are there any lawyers who are not of the bottom dwelling species?
