About to change my phone and want to get a Samsung S7 however I know the 7 note is not accepted on Celebrity cruises does anyone know about this other apparently safe model??

No problem with the S7. They are allowed anywhere any other smart phone is allowed.

This is the correct info. Note 7 is banned...and virtually all have been recalled, unless people aren't cooperating. S7 is fine.

Right. Mine is S7 and never had a problem.
