Travelcat2 Posted July 11, 2017 #2 Share Posted July 11, 2017 Laura, with all due respect, this article was quite surprising. The only place I read about whether or not passengers can bring alcohol onboard and the corkage fee is on premium plus and below cruise lines. The major luxury cruise lines (Crystal, Regent, Seabourn and Silversea ........ also Sea Dream and the PG) could care less if you bring alcohol onboard and there is never a corkage fee. This is a non-issue. And, there is no "alcohol policy" other than the legal drinking age. I'm really trying to see CC's viewpoint on mixing luxury and premium plus cruise lines, however, as of today, it is still mind boggling.
zqvol Posted July 11, 2017 #3 Share Posted July 11, 2017 Trying to figure out why Windstar is considered a luxury line. These policies alone put it closer to the mass market category.
6rugrats Posted July 27, 2017 #4 Share Posted July 27, 2017 I have been on many Windstar cruises. They don't care what alcohol you bring back on board; your bag isn't checked or x-rayed. While it's a very nice cruise line, I also don't consider Windstar "luxury."
wripro Posted July 28, 2017 #5 Share Posted July 28, 2017 Neither are half the other lines that post or are mentioned on this board. Coming here is like going into a Mercedes dealership and finding the showroom floor littered with Hondas.
Geezer Cruiser Posted August 10, 2017 #6 Share Posted August 10, 2017 I have been on many Windstar cruises. They don't care what alcohol you bring back on board; your bag isn't checked or x-rayed. While it's a very nice cruise line, I also don't consider Windstar "luxury." I was on Windstar last week, and there was some sort of a preliminary or cursory bag X-ray getting on board the ship.
