It just.... won't.... stop....

Have you been logging into the site to check on cruises? Usually, that's what prompts them to call. But still telling her not to call should work too.

My PVP would do the same thing at first, but I had a conversation with her about how I book and when I book. That calling was wasting her time on other people. I told her that I would call her when I was ready to book and I've kept my promise the last three times and got other people to book with her too.

I have to say, they probably have a quota they have to reach of calls for the week or something, but Carnival needs to know its making customers mad.

I kind of do the same. I tell my PVP the ships, dates, and ports we are interested in via email. I also give her a general idea of the cost we are looking to pay. She only calls me when something matches my criteria, and normally we will book when she calls. We usually start talking about the next cruise, when she calls me to see how our cruise went. Of course if I do a mock booking, I will for sure get a call, and she will also email me about offers.

OP I wonder if your person is new and doesn't have a full list clients, as often as she is calling you.

Last year I had to write to John Heald to get the calls to stop..

I wrote a message on his Facebook and I haven't had one since!

Just make sure he is answering questions.

I second this. I wrote to him when a call came while I was out. My wife answered the phone and the person on the other end wanted to talk about our "upcoming cruise". The one I booked for an anniversary. That I hadn't told her about yet. I came home to "are we going on a cruise?" Um .... surprise! I sent him an note. I haven't had a call from Carnival since. Probably will never get that upsell call now, but oh, well.

............ Surely, there must be a way to make it stop?

Its not very nice and people who know me would be surprise I am saying this but book a cruise with her, any cruise, one you can get your deposit back, then a week later call and cancel. Repeat every time she calls and tell her that you will be doing this until she stops calling you.

Lol. That's actually kind of funny.

Medicare robo calls? :D Oh, say it ain't so. Yikes, between the contractor calls, the political calls and the time share hopefuls, I go bat ship crazy. Now you tell me that there is another gift of Medicare calls coming my way in a few years....God bless your little heart.

M

And we get snail mails constantly about getting hearing aids. Worst part about signing up for Social Security.

There is only one way I know of that will truly get them to stop calling you. Tell them you use a travel agent. If the PVP keeps calling you after you tell them that, they will get fired. You might have to unblock their number first so you can actually get a call from them to tell them.

For a long time Carnival was trying to cut out travel agents, but when they were having trouble a few years ago they decided that they needed travel agents after all. So now they are extra careful to make sure they aren't cutting into a travel agent's business.

Weird how some people can't stop getting the calls! I am on the Carnival site usually a few times a week and I've never received a call from my PVP or any other Carnival rep. I usually browse around and when I'm ready to book, I'll email or call her to get started.

Wonder why it's one way for some and another way for others. I can't imagine how frustrating it is to not be able to get those calls to stop!

Same for us. We have used the same PVP for our last five cruises. I'm on the carnival site every week, and I only receive calls from our PVP, when I contact her, or she calls to let us know our cruise price was reduced.

When you talk to thousands of people per week, you can't remember every single person.

I doubt a call center rep is talking to thousands of people per week. That said, can't they just notate the account and set a follow up far into the future?

I've had my guy for awhile and have put in a fictitious phone number in my profile but somehow still calls my home number. He would call any time I went on the CCL website.

I usually book myself online but my next CCL cruise I booked with him and haven't had one phone call since and I go onto the CCL site every couple of days.

I guess I am fortunate because I have the best PVP in the whole world! I have booked a bunch of cruises with her over the years and have referred 6 other families to her and she always comes through for me. She has been able to modify reservations at the last minute and handle all sorts of issues without fail. I can text her anytime and she will call me back within minutes seven days per week. Of course I don't expect her to do this, but she does anyway.

Seriously, she provides the best customer service I have ever experienced from any company that I have ever dealt with. I don't know how I got so lucky, but I can promise that I will never change.

Thanks AF!

When they call....answer with Thank you for calling Royal Carribean, how may I help you? Or insert any biz name of your choice....they will mark the number as invalid and should drop off their call lists...have some fun with it. ;p

Now I'm worried. I apparently just got assigned a PVP as I received a message on my cell and an email. I've been doing mock bookings dreaming of a trip to Cuba or San Juan but my husband says 4 cruises in 6 months is enough. :o No more for awhile. Now am I going to be getting called all the time because I'm not booking? I don't mind having a PVP just don't want to get any calls until I'm ready.

I'm not sure I understand this whole PVP concept. I always book my cruises online myself. It's fairly straightforward.

If I have questions or a booking that's more complicated I call a TA. I have never had a call from a Carnival PVP.

Sounds like they are more trouble than they are worth unless you luck out and get one of the better ones I've heard about. I'd just rather not take the chance.

PVP's do a much better job than the people who answer the phone. They can work magic. Calling them you can ask for a cabin not showing as available on line. I always book with my fantastic PVP. She never makes harassing calls to me.
