garyb(uk) Posted May 10, 2017 #1 Share Posted May 10, 2017 I'm looking for recommendations for TI covering mainly 'cancellation'. I have a pre-existing medical condition that sadly puts the price considerably up, some are way more than others.
Travelcat2 Posted May 10, 2017 #2 Share Posted May 10, 2017 You may want to also ask this question on the U.K. board as you will likely get more responses. Here is a link http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=
Rare ronrick1943 Posted May 10, 2017 #3 Share Posted May 10, 2017 Don't know about UK, but in the US pre-ex conditions cost the same-you just have to buy the policy some many days after you make your first deposit and some companies let you wait until just before your final payment. rarin2go Posted May 11, 2017 #5 Share Posted May 11, 2017 Saga cover many pre-existing conditions but you have to be over 55.
lincslady Posted May 11, 2017 #6 Share Posted May 11, 2017 Look up Staysure on line; we have found them satisfactory. They do specialise in older people; maybe not so suitable if you are younger, but are willing to cover many medical conditions. We found Saga pricing to be over the top. Worth searching online, but it is time consuming filling in the info. they all need for a quote!
Isklaar Posted May 11, 2017 #7 Share Posted May 11, 2017 Check carefully the maximum cover amount - this is where asking this question on the UK board may not be helpful. It's a big issue if you're on a luxury cruise. If you're taking a cruise on Regent, or any of the luxury lines you will very likely find that the maximum cover amount is nowhere close to what you've paid. When I last checked, most standard policies covered up to £3500 which isn't going to be enough! It may be worth trying some insurance brokers for this, especially given your pre-condition and the cost of luxury cruises. Also, sounds obvious but do make sure the policy you take, its cover includes cruise travel. Some UK policies don't. If you buy your insurance online it will usually ask if you're planning to take a cruise. A broker should know this anyway.
langdonhillsandy Posted June 22, 2017 #8 Share Posted June 22, 2017 Hi Gary, I have many pre-existing conditions and I have used All Clear and Avanti for the last few years. I usually buy an annual policy as it works out cheaper in the log run. Anyway good luck Andy

The main criteria was the £10k each cancellation cover.
