CruiserBruce Posted November 4, 2015 #2 Share Posted November 4, 2015 As this is a cruise line policy, I would be asking on the Carnival board. Carnival is the one cruise line that seems to avoid time changes, but double check on the Carnival board.

Rare Keith1010 Posted November 4, 2015 #4 Share Posted November 4, 2015 It is a up to the ship. Many lines go by local time but some such as Carnival often go by ships time. Keith
Rare Hlitner Posted November 4, 2015 #5 Share Posted November 4, 2015 The Captain has the power to set his/her own policy so nothing is fixed in stone. What is always true is that Puerto Vallarta (and the surrounding area) is now on Central Time (this used to not be the case). As an aside, we just came off the Regal Princess where they failed to change the ship's time to Standard time this past Sunday. The Cruise Director later explained that they simply forgot (this is hard to believe). They did finally change ships time to standard time yesterday (early Tuesday) morning. Kind of funny as many on the ship were confused all day Sunday on the time. Hank
SadieN Posted November 4, 2015 #6 Share Posted November 4, 2015 Beginning of October we were an hour ahead of PV time. Sailed on the Miracle.
MSN-Travelers Posted November 5, 2015 #7 Share Posted November 5, 2015 i trying to figure out in january were on the miracle is ship time the same as local puerto vallarta time? It is rare, especially for Carnival, for ship's time to match local time e in Vallarta. Most ship's set sail with ship's time matching Pacific local time. Most ship's move clock one hour ahead as they enter the Mountain time zone (normally just north of Cabo) and stay on Mountain time when in Vallarta (ie: ship's time one hour behind Vallarta local time). The reverse occurring when the ship was headed home and north of Cabo. Carnival has been known to not change ship's time at all with the result being a two hour time difference in Vallarta. Best you ask recent Miracle passengers what their experience was.
