  1. I agree with you, BUT, there have been other posts about crew members having to turn in their cash tips.
  2. There has been various replies to this question.
  3. OR anyone else with Oceania knowledge! What is the policy toward receiving cash tips on board Oceania? If I give a cash tip to a cabin steward, bartender, room service, Concierge person, butler or anyone else, do they get to keep it or does it have to be turned in to a "Tip Pool"? We appreciate all of the hard work that the Oceania crew people do for us. You can identify yourself if you are able to.
  4. Sthrngary--I also enjoy reading your posts and appreciate your knowledge about Oceania. I seem to recall a discussion about tipping. Here is the question. If you give a tip to cabin steward or bartender, do they get to keep it OR does it go into some kind of "tip pool" that is combined with the automatic gratuity?
  5. Regarding spirits. I bring miniature bottles of Gin, Scotch, Bourbon, etc on board because the plastic bottles are very light to pack. There are plenty of mixers in your refrig. Get limes from a bar or bring a lime and knife to cut up. Of course--only drink these in your cabin. Order an appetizer type offering on room service and have a great "happy hour". Also take advantage of the half price "happy hour" drinks in various bars every day and usually on the second day, you will have a "Captains reception" and all drinks are free. No need to order a drink package unless you are a heavy drinker.
  6. OK--clarification. If wife and I go to Martinis for Happy Hour--I can order a Happy Hour martini and the server will bring me 2 martinis at the same time (and half price) and then I can give one to my wife? And bartender/server will not say anything? This all assumes we do NOT have a drink package.
  7. Also--I previously saw that several of my favorite beers were not offered on Vista. I now see them on your menu. I do like Newcastle and Blue Moon (saw them on your menu). My previous research said they were not available and I could get Speckled Hen. I bought Speckled Hen at store and do like it.
  8. Thanks Jancruz. What are some of the things they do to sell out?
  9. WOW! That's an $18 dollar glass of champagne!! Clutj--can you check if this is true? Hope this is true that it comes with the Simply More free wine/beer offer.
  10. I just did a "pretend" booking on our cruise leaving Jan 19th on Vista. I think right now there are about 66 cabins not sold and available. Not sure if Oceania does some kind of special promotion as we get closer to the sailing date.
  11. Is the Blue Top available on the free wine/beer (Simply More package) as a choice for dinner and lunch? On Vista Jan 24.
  12. Hey---this looks like a nice one. https://www.amazon.com/JefDiee-Inflatable-Airplane-Adjustable-Essentials/dp/B09DSJ2B8J/ref=sxin_17_sbv_search_btf?content-id=amzn1.sym.5795aee5-71f0-4369-b632-e8c78407f2cf%3Aamzn1.sym.5795aee5-71f0-4369-b632-e8c78407f2cf&crid=1KY2IQBSAHXN7&cv_ct_cx=inflatable%2Bfootstool&keywords=inflatable%2Bfootstool&pd_rd_i=B09DSJ2B8J&pd_rd_r=cb1bc870-3206-431f-9e77-65c5553c0934&pd_rd_w=oUUZV&pd_rd_wg=ScmTX&pf_rd_p=5795aee5-71f0-4369-b632-e8c78407f2cf&pf_rd_r=9D2FKNMJHG621N506MMF&qid=1699450312&sbo=RZvfv%2F%2FHxDF%2BO5021pAnSA%3D%3D&sprefix=inflatible%2Bfoot%2Bstool%2Caps%2C74&sr=1-1-5190daf0-67e3-427c-bea6-c72c1df98776&th=1
  13. Vineyard--You are now the official Sommelier of CC. I know tastes do vary, but, what are some of the wines by the glass that you really like?
  14. Good point shepherd. Question: 1. Can you think of any lunch or dinner restaurant where the free wine is not offered? Waves grill?? Room service? 2. Can you ask to sample a couple of wines at lunch or dinner to see what you like?
  15. We would like to go to Total Wine and sample some of the wines before we go.
  16. Appreciate that info. Is there a list of some of these wines?
  17. So------- SM started in October. Can someone on board, we are sailing on Vista in Jan but I think all ships will be the same, tell us the names of a few of the wines and beers that are offered free at lunch and dinner.
  18. islabahia and others. Suggest you get some 3M command strips to attach the sound deflectors. That way, you can remove the devices when you are done and will not leave any residue on the back of the TV. Oceania is "fussy" about altering anything in the cabin. If anyone tries this on an upcoming cruise, let us know how it works.
  19. Walter--I agree with your statement about having wireless headsets available on Oceania. Might solve a lot of problems with TV noise in adjoining cabins. OCEANIA MANAGEMENT--DO YOU HEAR US??
  20. OK everyone here's another solution to TV noise. Someone told me there's enough room to install this. ------------------------------------------------------------------ From your answer of 1 inch of space between TV and the wall, I am pretty sure I can attach these very thin plastic devices, using double sided tape that comes with it. The plastic devices will deflect the sound to the front. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09TQ23FKC?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
  21. And of course, in case everyone does not know, you can get closed caption by pressing the diamond button on the remote. The diamond button is to the left of 0.
  22. Thanks wheelhouse. From your answer of 1 inch of space between TV and the wall, I am pretty sure I can attach these very thin plastic devices, using double sided tape that comes with it. The plastic devices will deflect the sound to the front. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09TQ23FKC?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
  23. Thanks for that answer. Do you think there is room to get to the back of the TV and attach (double sided tape) a very thin plastic device that would divert the sound to the front?
  24. Dr Koob--great reports. If you remember I was asking about the sound from the tv's and I started another thread about that and "amazing", someone showed how to get closed caption on the TV. I stated that I was ordering 2 different "sound diverters" from Amazon. Can you answer: 1. Do the Vista TV's move very much out of the wall and do they turn slightly so you can watch from the couch--we will have Concierge Cabin? 2. Can you look at the TV and tell me, are the speakers facing down or backward and what is the approximate length of the speakers? Thanks.
  25. Only vlthom gets the "good guy" reward. He was first to solve the problem Hope Oceania posts this info somewhere in each cabin. Sure could help a lot of people. Thanks again vlthom.
