  1. @QueSeraSera thank you for adopting a rescue dog. We have adopted two dogs that suffered trauma in the past and seeing them living their best lives after being given love and security from our family is a wonderful thing. I am surprised though that your puppy was not examined if he had a limp before being offered up for adoption. I know all the rescue centres here do that. Maybe you adopted privately.
  2. That lodge would have had been picturesque. Thank you for the warning. He is well aware of the bear situation as my daughter and her friend did hikes in the Glacier NP area last year and has made him well aware of the bears + my dad has sent him multiple videos of hikers encountering bears on trails… DD has also asked him to hike with friends where possible and if hiking solo to let us and his work colleagues know where exactly he plans to hike.
  3. DS’ hometown right now - Waterton in the very south of Alberta. I’d rather not say where he is working at this point but he is looking forward to doing lots of hikes in his time off. Deer are everywhere here & he has seen plenty of ground squirrels and their holes…
  4. Today’s Saturday activity was a history walk at Ku-ring-Gai Wildflower Gardens. Our guide started off acknowledging the Aboriginal community, then he played the didgeridoo for us. We then did a walk in the bush with the guide explaining some facts that we weren’t aware of such as native termites share their nests in trees with cockatoos or goannas as they raise their young. And they co-exist without an issue. As we walked easels with enlarged black & white historic photos were on display for us to peruse whilst he gave narration of that period. At the end, 15 of us sat on a long table set up outside with the bush behind us and had fresh scones with rosella jam (from Rosella Hibiscus flowers), cream and bush tea. Then my friend and I did a short bushwalk and the heavens opened on us. A very pleasant morning despite the wet ending. No photos from our activity but bushwalk photos
  5. Good morning. It’s a cool & overcast Saturday here. Very rare for me to be up before sunrise, so had to take a photo. Since I was up, figured an early morning walk seemed like a good idea. Been interesting reading how much taxes influence everyone’s retirement choices. Here it’s family, house prices , proximity to the beach & access to medical care.
  6. Love the privacy this would give you. We live in an area of single level homes with large blocks of land. Over the past 2 years, the three homes at the rear of us have been bought, demolished and large 2 level homes with granny flats at the rear against the fence line have been built so we have completely lost our privacy.
  7. Next week, 9 nights to the South Pacific. Not with Royal. Two sea days each way, ports are Noumea x 2, Mystery Island and Lifou. 🌴🤿🐠🍹
  8. Won a little hamper of goodies in a raffle. Happy to pack all the chocolates in the suitcase for the upcoming cruise.
  9. Due to working lots of overtime, I now see our office cleaner. Every time he comes into my office, I say hello and he bows.
  10. Commonsense media has reviews of movies and books and informs parents of language, romance & violence. Worth a look before your next outing with the grandkids.
