  1. Christmas Eve in Sydney. Beautiful Balmoral Beach In the late afternoon Susie amongst the crowds watching the Christmas light display (set to music) Santa on his way courtesy of the NSW fire service
  2. To my friends in the Northern Hemisphere, can you believe that I had to swap cars yesterday because DH left the Impreza in the full sun and the steering wheel (& seat) were too hot to touch….
  3. It’s lovely when brothers and sisters are so close like you were. My dad and his English sister do the same every Sunday night so I know how much they meant to you and how much you will miss them.
  4. You know how the screen in your car shows up who texts you when you plug your mobile phone in to charge it when driving? Here’s a tip - not a good idea to charge your phone in the car at Christmas. the jewellery store texted me yesterday to say my last minute order was on its way. Drove out to collect DD last night and I plugged in my phone before leaving home to collect her - she hops in the car and sees the name of the jewellery store at the bottom of my most recent text names. Oops! There goes that surprise. We just laughed. ps. Officeworks texted this morning to say they had reprinted all my photos from yesterday 😀 pps thank you for this space to share my “stories”. My best friend is in the depths of grief and I miss sharing my little stories with her (as she did too). This group brings comfort as I continue to support her and her family.
  5. @jagsfan I am so sorry for the loss of your brother Bill. He clearly was a very special man and the heart of your family. Those songbooks are a treasure too. Absolutely beautiful photos of the newly engaged couple. Congratulations to them both.
  6. So, DD decided I needed a photo of grandad in the framed multiple family photo montage of his birthday dinner that I am gifting him for Christmas. I went to Officeworks this afternoon to print off one photo, ended up selecting 95 recent holiday photos ….then inadvertently selected the poster size so the bill came to $895.00…had to cancel and go through the whole process again of uploading 4500 mobile phone photos (yes I should have put them in folders beforehand) and selecting the ones I wanted. Hit print for them to be printed out. No receipt. Receipt needed for auto print machine. 30min queue at the help desk to get a receipt printed off. Photos printing off very slowly, Then the at the 50th photo I realised that there was an issue with the printer, the photos were being printed with multiple green horizontal lines. Sigh. Back to the help desk. No they can’t cancel the order mid print and no they can’t reprint right now. After spending over an hour and a half at Officeworks, I gave up and left the building with 50% good photos ….only to have the photo envelope carrying the photos burst and the 95 photos blown everywhere on the road and down a carpark ramp…,I had four kind strangers chasing after my photos…. Hoping no-one will notice will the horizontal lined photo until I have a chance to replace….
  7. Apologies for not identifying the ski resort but it’s in BC. DS had his first experience of working outdoors when it’s -32 (feels like -42). 20 mins outdoors, then 40 mins indoors to warm up, then back again. Team of 7, working early morning to early afternoon today.
  8. Hi. Click on the 3 dots above your post and click report. Just say you inadvertently supplied your personal info. I only learnt how to do this last week and have just done this for you but you should do it too. Unfortunately it means your lovely photos of the kids will be taken down too but better to be safe.
  9. All the best you to you all currently or about to freeze your butts off….hope it’s not to painful for you all and stay safe on the roads.
  10. Actual conversation my DD had with a young male co-worker CW yesterday…. CW: Help!!! I haven’t bought my GF a present and I told her I had 6 weeks ago… After a lengthy discussion mainly one sided from DD trying to work out what she likes, it was decided jewellery was the best option DD: Does she like gold or silver? DD: you have been dating for 12 months/ you don’t know or haven’t noticed?? After, searching the GFs online photos, the type of metal and jewellery was decided DD: You have missed the online delivery cut off, you need to go to the store DD: no, the store will not be filled with women. It will be filled with men like you who are panicking…, DD: No, I am not going across the city in my lunch break to buy your girlfriend’s present.. 🙄🤣
  11. Since I got back from the cruise, our office kitchen has been full of Christmas goodies from suppliers - so many chocolates….we also support a charity that makes a superb fruitcake, so I bought one and donated to the office kitchen. Then one of our suppliers also baked a huge alcohol soaked panettone like cake with chocolate topping and centre.Half our office works from home these days, so there was no way all of it was going to be eaten. I asked if I could take a wedge over for my dad and the answer was yes and would he like a commercial box of Panettone too. Took them over last night & he was delighted. Driving home, the Christmas lights on homes near him were amazing.
