  1. You can, but make sure the porter puts your name on the tags too. On my last cruise out of Balt, the porter wrote my room number on someone else's luggage and it showed up in my room. Called steward to tell him it wasn't mine, they took it away. Then it showed up two more times that evening as different staff kept delivering it to my room. Can't blame them, it didn't have a name on it just a number so no way for them to figure out where it belonged. As I have had the paper luggage tags come off during delivery before, I always have my personal luggage tags with my name on mine. I guess the original owner finally went to guest services to find out where their stuff was.
  2. I have tried the steakhouse and Maitre'd email several times on different ships- never have gotten a response, so don't get your hopes up. But I have never had any trouble just going to the maitre'd in the mdr when first getting on the ship and getting any issues addressed then.
  3. Thanks everyone. So I see from the list posted all my C&A benefits are discounts and are preloaded to my card. This is easier than on Carnival where you have to be aware of what you get and where to pick it up or have it delivered. So no casino benefits even though this is a free cabin other than the C&A $2 freeplay. So I can just show up and let it happen. What does Access to Club Royale VIP Events mean? Is this onboard?
  4. I was asking about non casino perks too. I understand about C&A but on Carnival being platinum gets you some free play as well as priority and gifts, drink vouchers and treats delivered to your room. And the offer you booked under determines your perks in the casino. Some come with differing amounts of free play or drinks in just the casino or everywhere. So there I just need to know what offer I booked under to know that info. I guess maybe this is not the same on Royal. Since I haven't cruised on Royal since 2019, I don't remember much but I do remember the level resets annually. I am assuming my level is choice since I haven't cruised on them in 4 years. Does that mean I can look up the perks based on that?
  5. Although I cruised with Royal several times before covid, I am going on my first post- covid Royal cruise in a couple of weeks. As I have cruised several times on Carnival since I booked this Royal cruise I have simply forgotten what the perks are for this cruise. I'm platinum but I'm not sure what the casino offer I booked under was. I booked last winter so I'm not sure how to find this info without trying to contact Casino Royale. Just wondering if I have casino free play, free drinks or whatever. Thanks for your advice.
  6. The last several cruises I have been on, the casino is incredibly busy. I like to just drive to my homeport, so smaller ships. Tables full, machines full (maybe not all, but any I would want to play). Lots of slot players playing minimum bets so they never leave. I prefer to play max bet but consequently when I am losing, my time at the machine is limited and I might not be able to get back on a machine for hours. I find my comps are not as high as they use to be because I am playing less. I don't really want to play in the morning or after midnight and I definitely like to spend time in the ports. So my question is this- I'm going to gamble anyway and I give myself a set budget, but with these circumstances, what is better for comps, keep playing max bets and maybe not get on a machine or park myself at a machine and playing smaller bets for a longer time?
  7. Just purchased a 3x class pass for the gym and a shore excursion online for my upcoming cruise. Kayak Adventure Guests Day Day 3 - Orlando (port Canaveral), Fl Time 01:00 PM $54.99 Class Pass X 3 Guests Day Day 1 - Baltimore, Maryland Time 12:00 PM $39.00 Order summary Subtotal $93.99 Gratuities $7.80 Order total $101.79 Who do these gratuities go to? I'm used to the added gratuities for spa services and specialty dining but not this. Just wondering.
  8. Thanks everyone. That helped. I was able to go to the current sailing and check out the menus and see what nights I wanted to miss the mdr . One thing was confusing though. My last 10 cruises have been with carnival and there were always shows at 7:30 and 9:30 so you could work your dining times around them. From what I could see in the app it looked like there was only 1 showing which seems it might be hard to make as I have mtd and it doesn't start til 6:45. Even the movies looked like they were 6-8. Am I reading that right?
  9. not familiar with how to do that in the app- when I click on dining it just gives generic description of venues
  10. Cruising Vision of the Seas mid Dec but new to royal app. I would like to see the mdr menus and the entertainment schedule so I can decide which nights I want to go to specialty restaurants. Can I do this now or do I have to wait til I'm onboard? Thanks
  11. Haven't cruised RCI since before covid. Does platinum priority give you the ability to drop your carryon in the cabin as soon as you board as it does on Carnival?
  12. Just got my documents for my cruise in Dec. The cruise ticket contract says no nonalcoholic beverages can be brought on board, but Royals website still says you can bring on 12 bottles(?) or cans at embarkation. Just trying to verify if this has changed. Also, my last few cruises were with carnival which does not allow bottles so I was pleased to see Royal allows bottles. Any recent experiences to report?
  13. but could I read kindle library books (or other free books) on this tablet? My goal was to not have 2 devices, and I really need to read books on a cruise. I do like using the app (always have mtd).
  14. I currently have a kindle paperwhite that I use for books. I have a cellphone but don't like to carry it around. I know the hub app doesn't work for the paperwhite kindle, but if I buy a kindle fire tablet will I be able to use it for both books and the hub app? Not sure about the compatibility but I'd rather carry around one device than have to keep track of and charge 2 devices on my cruise, if possible. Thanks
  15. Last time I was on the Legend in April, they had cocktails made with Lyres nonalcoholic spirits at Alchemy and Ariel dealcoholized Chardonnay and Cabernet available by the bottle in the dining room. I don't like a sugary nonalcoholic drink but these were great. I will be on the Legend again Oct 29th. Can any current Legend cruisers verify whether they are both still available? Thanks for your help.
  16. I have used a multiplug adapter with usb and electrical outlets many times on the Legend to allow me to charge my kindle and phone and not have to unplug my alarm clock every time. No one ever mentioned a problem, nor has it been confiscated.
  17. it is on the other side of the island about 20-25 minute ride, transportation included if you book through their website
  18. I have not tried to bring my own food. Barry is very responsive- if you send him a message from the website asking I'm sure you'll get an answer to your question.
  19. In my experience that should be fine at kiosks . But if you have issues just go to desk services and they will apply it for you.
  20. in order to make a partial payment you need to go to guest services, if you go to the kiosk it applies the whole card. if I'm not sure how much I'm going to spend on board, I buy several $100 cards rather than one card of a large denomination. Once when there were no small denomination cards available at a discount, I bought a big one, and since I my bill wasn't as much as the card, I had to have guest services apply the partial payment ( which they did with no issue) and then had a card with a partial balance which I used on the next cruise. So I don't have to stand in line at guest services, I now buy $100 cards if possible because this also allows me to spread my purchases out over several months whenever I have a few extra bucks.
  21. If you cruise carnival often, I suggest carnival gift cards instead. If you buy them on a rewards card or aarp (and some other outlets), you can get at least 10% off. If you don't use the full amount, just save the card for the next cruise without having to maneuver to get your cruise cash back through the casino. I also like to buy cards at different times in the months preceding a cruise because then I can relax on the cruise, knowing that my vacation is already paid for, and at a discount.
  22. so I always pay for everything ahead of time lately ( excursions, spa treatments, specialty dinners all purchased before getting on board) so I have a very low balance at the end of cruise. While this is all separate from the actual cash I take for gambling, do you know that on board purchases affect offers? I do feel like while I still have offers they. are for lower valued cabins than previously and I haven't received a bounce back recently, when I used to get them most cruises. I was attributing this to the fact that cruising is up and ships are sailing full, and not my behavior since I have been gambling about the same amount each cruise. Any other thoughts on this?
  23. Just finished it. I would go to a 5pm comedy show for sure. I don't enjoy the nightly shows in the big theater anymore, so I try to see all the comedy shows but those venues are always so crowded.
  24. I was able to book for Dec on Vision
