  1. OP, I think it has clearly been shown by PPs that the expiry date was there for you to see. And it's up to you to remain aware of it. No one is going to hold your hand for this, nor should they. As for any rudeness you may have empncountered, since we don't have both sides of the call, I'll not voice an opinion. Best of luck on all your future Voyages.
  2. Why would it be in their own interests? Those tours sell out very quickly, even though they are not accessible. They would be incurring quite large costs at no fiscal benefit to themselves. And given the purposes of those areas, I highly doubt a w/c using crewmember would be employed there in the first place. When was the last time you saw a working crew member in a w/c below decks?
  3. Why should they be? Unless for occupational safety reasons; not for passenger convenience. These are normally crew only areas.
  4. Did one Disney cruise. One. Out of 20+ years of cruising. It was fine, but for the money I can get just as good or better on many other lines. And I don't hate kids. One thing the Disney ships do well is having plenty of adults only areas on board.
  5. Have never had a perfect cruise; but some have come close.
  6. GeezerCouple has given you the link to TSA. Basically the airlines won't care one way or another. Keep your insulin and supplies in your cabin bag, never in your checked luggage. Since it needs to be kept cold, you will need to invest in a Frio bag or other type of insulin travel cooler. Google them for more information. Contact your cruise line Special Needs department to request a medication fridge. The temps in these are better controlled than the regular mini fridges in cabins. You can also request a sharps container for your bathroom.
  7. So what is it about the ship pitching or rolling that bothers you? Are you afraid? Of what? Are you sea sick? If you have problems with seas sickness, have you tried remedies for it? An interior cabin is the last place you want to be, since being able to see the horizon can be a great help. Regarding this fall cruise; normally no one could predict what the ocean would be like. It's calm until it's not. But in your case, you will be travelling through the Bay of Biscay which is notorious for usually being rough. This may not be the cruise for you.
  8. Surely the very obvious cutbacks in service and quality affect all cruisers, both old and new. Nor to I think it is a deliberate attempt to discourage older cruisers. Poor service and low quality should discourage anyone from booking with that line, no matter what their age or cruising experience. When I first read the title, I thought the thread would be about marketing, and the recent turn of some of the more premium lines towards aiming their ads to attract a younger demographic.
  9. I'm 100% sure that the UK is not part of Schengen. So she will need a UK visa on top of the Schengen one. DO NOT trust any 3rd party sites. Contact the embassies of the countries you will be travelling to directly.
  10. Sooooo, SHE gets to decide what she wants to remember, not some week long guest that she'll forget about when the next guest boards the ship. Although, I'm sure someone who hands her a tacky fridge magnet or socks will stick in her memory for some time. But not for the reason you think.
  11. The showers themselves will vary from line to line, ship to ship, or even from one cabin category to another. Some have glass doors, some have curtains that may or may not cling. Some are bigger than others. Most will have hand held shower heads. Some have a wall fixed bottle of all purpose wash. Others have 3 bottles with body wash, shampoo, and conditioner. I've never had a problem with pressure drop or lack of hot water.
  12. Unfortunately Celebrity can't manufacture wheelchair accessible excursions out of thin air. They have to avail themselves of local providers. If those providers no longer exist since the COVID shut down, or the port area lacks the infrastructure to allow for wheelchair accessibility, there's not much the cruiseline can do. You might want to check out the Disabilities forum as well as the Ports of Call boards to see how others research accessible excursions in these areas.
  13. OP, I really think it depends on the kind of excursion you had on any given day. An hour after reboarding the ship may be all you need if you've had a leisurely day ashore. But if you have been on a very strenuous, long excursion, you may find you need to add a bit of a rest period before dinner.
  14. I think you'll find all of the travel options in the Ports of Call forum. I would venture to say that the vast majority of pax stay in Rome before embarking in Civit. The train is certainly an option, but I wouldn't advise it if you have a lot of luggage. Have a plan for how you will get from the train station to the port entrance. Many prefer a pre booked car service. You might even find someone to share a car on your Roll Call.
  15. Room service tips are at your discretion, and while not expected, we choose to tip for timely service. A dollar or 2 for morning coffee, or $5 for a full meal. It's completely up to you.
  16. It may not be the reason why I travel to a country, but it is quite often one of the main reasons why it becomes memorable - more than the monuments, ruins, or palaces.
  17. How soon after the marriage is this cruise happening? The name on the booking has to match the name on her identity documents. It can take a bit of time for her to get a new DL and passport issued in her married name. Coordinate with your daughter. It may be easier to just book under her current name and have her wait until her return to change her ID docs.
  18. You could simply explain your situation to the Maitre d'. You might also like to splash out on some of the very stylish and elegant looking head wraps that are available from many sources. No one would confuse those with a baseball cap or sports visor.
  19. DD applied for DGS passport renewal in person 2 weeks ago exactly. She got the new one today.
  20. "Ladies" may choose to wear a fashionable hat, as a part of their ensemble to any occasion where such apparel is customarily acceptable. In the distant past, as stated, hats were integral to their dress whenever outside their home during the day. Removing the hat was problematic because it usually involved removing one or more long pins, and often resulted in their hair being in disarray. Hence the ladies' hats remained in place until they returned to their home and changed for the evening. A tennis visor is not a fashion statement; it is sportswear. Stick a feather or a flower on it and it's still sportswear. And a ship MDR is not a country club. Taking it off isn't going to ruin your 'do'. And you don't need it to shade your eyes from the sun in the dining room. Women don't have a more relaxed dress code than men. They have a different dress code, because their clothing options are different. You still cant wear whatever you want into the MDR. Try wearing a skinny bikini top and a pair of Daisy Dukes with your butt cheeks showing into the MDR and see what happens. And AFAIK they don't make strappy, spike heeled, dress sandals or cocktail dresses for men. So that argument fails. You made an error in judgement, as we all have at one time or another. Accept it and move on.
  21. I'm confused. I thought we were talking about a Princess cruise.
  22. What ship? Which cabin category? Try asking on the forum dedicated to the cruise line (Princess?) you are looking at.
  23. Depends on how knowledgeable about the various options/limitations surrounding cabin selection and package add ons or inclusions. If you have cruised before, then you can book yourself online. If you might have a few questions about the booking, then booking by phone might be helpful. Prices should be the same if booking exactly the same thing. A TA who is a cruuse specialist can be very helpful in guiding new cruisers, or if booking with a line for the first time. They MAY offer additional OBC when you book. As Cruiser Bruce said- shop around. Do a mock booking online. Get a quote over the phone from the cruise line and a few TAs. Just be sure you are comparing apples to apples.
  24. AFAIK, Princess uses duvets, not quilts. A queen size duvet would weigh probably less than 8 lb. A single size weighted blanket would weigh anywhere from 2 to 4 times that much . The ship isn't going to supply something like this. OP will have to bring their own.
