  1. I have some TAP Portugal vouchers that must be booked by this May. I am trying to do a cruise/trip each month for my retirement year. And golf league starts in May so DH prefers to limit his cruising at that time. Stumbled across an INCREDIBLE deal. For $626 (interior, including drinks & wifi), 10 days around the UK. Plus for $946 (interior, including drinks & wifi), 11 days around Norway. Even with tips, that is less than $90/day!!!!!! DM & I had a UK trip planned in 2019 but Dad was having some medical issues so we postponed...to a Med cruise in 2020 (DD was going along too). Well we know how that went. DM was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer in Feb. 2021, and we lost that wonderful woman on Valentine's Day this year. So this is also for her. (I did goad her into a Caribbean cruise on the Edge last August that was magical)
  2. Looking forward to it--sailing with friends we met in 2018 on the Equinox! Hoping that we, too, shall cruise again together. LOVING all the cruises!
  3. Can't comment...but I suspect you will find a lot more families in Europe?
  4. Must have request in at least 2 weeks prior. Recent reports has NCL being sticklers about this.
  5. WOW Hoping they do some restock b4 we board next week! (I know on the Caribbean Princess this summer there were some things we couldn't get the 1st week. Head Waiter was very apologetic. Week 2 they were fully stocked. Appears to be supply chain issues...so we all have to roll with it)
  6. Interesting...having sailed Edge & Apex in the last 18 mos. we felt the demographic was lower than we have seen on typical Celebrity cruises (with the exception of a 5 day Constellation cruise over spring break...2/3 UofFL students--they win as the youngest demo ever!) We are 56 & 59. Beyond prices may currently be pushing the demographics higher, plus a repo cruise is typically an older demo. 7 day Caribbean cruises out of FL bring a younger demo.
  7. I filled out the form on their site last week to transfer the points but have not gotten an email confirming it has been completed. Is there somewhere on our reservation where it would show up? Of course we sail next week!!
  8. Boy oh boy I should have learned. Was looking at a Grand Voyage a few weeks ago...sold out b4 I could book. Just as well, had to cancel TA leading into it. Should have booked this one...ALSO GONE. SHEESH
  9. INCREDIBLE deal for a 2 week cruise in a balcony with all the perks! (BTW they are giving you a much better deal than I can pull up on line...I see $1750 for a balcony w/ perks online) I agree with @JamieLogical--go with the regular balcony. Jealous! Hey...can you email me at kkbunde @ gmail.com sometime? I've got a couple questions...
  10. OK. I am sailing MSC for the first time in Feb. (solo) I have just found a great deal for May--$1250 total for balcony with $500 OBC (also solo). Should I book this now or wait to book while onboard to take advantage of those onboard booking perks? My gut says DO IT NOW as this just seems like a tremendous value & there is no guarantee this offer will last (tho it has continued much longer than I anticipated)

  12. I LOVE the 4 dining room MDR approach, PARTICULARLY with the additional region specific offerings. We agree Celebrity food is generally the best of mainstream lines, but honestly we do fine in MDRs of all the lines we have sailed.
  13. I believe they just dropped dining times in MDRs, NOT specialty dining. No early/late times, just anytime for all.
  14. I'm confused by this. Just pulled up Beyond & Oasis MDRs. Every line has an "everyday menu"--several common appetizers & entrees that one can order nightly. Beyond shows 4 appy & 3 entrees; Oasis shows 6 appys & 4 entrees. Then each day the menu changes. Beyond has 5 of each; Oasis has 4 appys & 5 entrees. E class adds to this with the restaurant specific menus in each of the MDRs. EACH of the 4 dining rooms offers 3 appys & 3 entrees unique to their region. (NOT sure the "region" of Cosmopolitan...😊) Oasis has nothing like this addition. "Many dishes repeat every day" Yes, the "classics" ALWAYS repeat on every line. And the special menu for each restaurant does not change. BUT it is different in each of the 4 MDRs. AND there is ALSO a changing daily menu as with other lines. I just want to be sure those who have not sailed Eclass to realize there are MORE choices collectively than on other lines, such as RCCL. (and Celebrity has fewer classic choices, which means even more variety).
  15. Huh. On our 2 weeks on the Edge Aug. 2021 (about 1/3 full) & Apex in March (2/3 full) that bar was always busy! I do miss the video poker on the Apex.
  16. Does Carnival charge a fee for this? Princess does not. Considering getting some Carnival gift cards 10% off thru AARP to pay for our room charges.
  17. RCCL was far more organized than NCL. It was held in a conference room--no smoke issues. It has been quite a few years so I don't remember the structure or other details. On another note, I still contend 30 min. blinds is in NO way a "turbo"; 45-60 min. blinds are few & far between in Vegas & elsewhere. Just pulled up Poker Atlas. Today: Venetian $1600 buy in: 40 min. blinds is the closest (and 50% costlier than this one) Even Aria's $240 tourney has 20 min. blinds. (I prefer 30min+ but 20 is pretty standard. 15min. blinds r definitely a Turbo. Sahara is doing 12 min. blinds🤮)
  18. Were you able to rent a day pass or just book a room for the day? Regarding creaking...having sailed 20+ cruises on various lines, we have occasionally heard creaking in some rooms. Never thought much of it.. Thanks so much for your Live report--enjoying it so much!
  19. I had never had Dover Sole before...I found the texture off-putting. Looks like a flakey whitefish...but it was firm like shark or swordfish (don't like those either!) Not for me.
  20. We used to until I read numerous articles about how the ships septic systems don't handle the good stuff well. We miss our Charmin on a ship but a clogged toilet would be worse.... (it was never confiscated)
