  1. I doubt Princess could afford Starlink. On the other hand, maybe they could. https://www.engadget.com/starlink-maritime-satellite-internet-054320228.html https://www.starlink.com/maritime
  2. Doesn't surprise me there are long hold times when so many people are willing to be on hold for hours to deal with such menial issues.
  3. I thought Princess announced that they did spend the $$$ to upgrade in April 2021.. That's why they advertise internet speeds like working at home. I think something happened to their contract with their provider. https://www.travelpulse.com/news/cruise/princess-cruises-announces-expansion-of-medallionnet-wi-fi-service.html#:~:text=Princess Cruises announced upgrades to,the connectivity expected on land.
  4. I use a travel router connected to my iPhone with an ethernet adapter. 5. We had a really good steward. One night I got up to go to the bathroom and when I returned my wife was asleep in the bed and the bed was made.
  6. The Steward doesn't care if you are a professional poster. You will be served the same as any other cruiser.
  7. Olive Garden is upscale for us compared to where we usually dine on a night out and seems comparable to MDR on a Princess ship.
  8. Not if you're vegetarian, unless you like pumpkin crepe while others are having their lobster or beef wellington.
  9. Maybe one reason people don't dress up for formal night is it really isn't any different from smart/casual. Pre pandemic there was captain's speech and staff introduction, champagne waterfall, free drinks and socializing in the Piazza, balloon drop, etc. An air of celebration or a special night. Now, it's just another night.
  10. It sucks. In fact, internet sucks on all Princess ships in the same part of the world. Princess announced internet would be bad on our TA from Fort Lauderdale to Copenhagen last April. It was and they gave us $140 OBC P/P. No Announcement, but it wasn't much better on the follow on the cruise from Copenhagen to Southampton. .Could check texts/e-mail/web, but not stream. I requested OBC and they gave me $109/PP. We have a cruise coming up next month to Norway/Iceland and my account already shows $160 OBC for the two of us. BTW, we have the Plus package.
  11. Without going into the math, I think I come out ahead with the plus package. Not counting the morning specialty coffee drinks it is 1-2 glasses of wine at lunch, a mixed drink at Platinum/Elite, two glasses of wine at dinner, 2-3 glasses of wine and/or mixed drinks during the evening. Hopefully, my lowest price wine and mixed drink will still be included.
  12. MedallionNet - How it works https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X78mWmZABew Why is MedallionNet so poor on Transatlantic Cruises? We sailed on the Regal Princess November 2021 - almost no internet from Azores to Fort Lauderdale. Sky Princess and Regal Princes s TAs March 2022 reported extremely poor internet. Sailing Enchanted Princess April 2022 - just informed "As you may be aware, as a ship moves across the Atlantic its antennas routinely shift connection between satellites covering specific regions of the globe, which can result in low to no connectivity. Internet service will still be available during your journey, but because there may be times when you may be unable to connect during your cruise we will refund the cost of pre-purchased MedallionNet Wi-Fi packages as onboard credit." My previous experience actually was extremely slow or no internet the entire time between Fort Lauderdale and Azores. Passengers on Sky Princess reported very poor internet for most of their cruise. People take Princess at its word that MedallionNet will be "like working from home" and then get informed just before their cruise that it won't be. Shame on Princess Cruises.
