  1. Just completed a coastal cruise on the Crown. Disappointed to find the Salty Dog Gastro Pub had been closed since May. Seems Princess could have taken it off the list of specialty restaurants available. There was even a section in the survey. I put NA for each of the questions.

  4. Pretty easy to go from one device to another with the one device plan. You will get a message that you are connected to another device, do you want to connect to this one?

  6. Salty Dog Gastro Pub is closed. Also, MDR was closed for lunch on Embarkation Day. This morning, we were on Deck 7 in the forward part of the ship and decided to walk to Horizon Court for lunch by first going to Deck 10. Didn't realize there was a sewage problem, but were almost overcome by the smell.
  7. We have been on cruises on Majestic, Enchanted (3) since September 2021 and are currently on Crown. We are fine with the one sheet printed Patter. All we need to know what is going on as opposed to JourneyView on the app.

  10. I don't see replacing free 250 minutes with unlimited at $5.00/day as a cutback. To me the cutback is not living up to the promise that internet on a cruise would be like working at home.
  11. We are currently in E731 on the Crown Princess (sister ship to Emerald) There is no connecting door to E729). We prefer this cabin to other mini suites, because the balcony is completely covered and extended with an aft view. Dolphin mini suite balconies are not covered and people in the cabins above can look down on them. Once, we sailed in E721 on the Ruby and smoking was an issue, because the balcony is directly above the smoking area. We haven’t experienced a smoking issue yet in E731and think it would be highly unlikely.
  12. We are on the Crown Princess now in an Aft Emerald Deck Minisuite in seas rough enough to make us miss our port visit to Astoria, Oregon. I don’t notice anything unusual from what one would expect for this weather. Vibrations from leaving port also seemed similar from what we have experienced.

  14. Currently on the Crown Princess. Salty Dog Gastro Pub has been discontinued. Hopefully it will still be available on Discovery Princess in February.
  15. We used to take suitcases. Now we each take a backpack and a carryon. Instead of a suit for formal night I bring a lightweight sport coat just do I don’t standout too much. We really like NCL’s Freestyle approach. We just did a NCL cruise and we’re impressed (as always by the entertainment), but also by the improvements in service and dining. We are embarking on a Princess cruise now and I hope they have also tried to improve in those areas. Otherwise I think it is going to be NCL.
  16. I deleted the app and reinstalled the latest update 4.6.1 that is supposed to make improvements to my experience. I think it has.
  17. After removing and reinstalling I think the latest update 4.6.1 is an improvement that works pretty good.
  18. Four days to go to my next cruise and i just updated the Medallion App to Version 4.6.1 "We've improved the Princess MedallionClasss. In this update, you will see that we have removed PlayOcean and made improvements to your experience." Not!
  19. I think Princess has gotten a lot of mileage out of the original Love Boat. I have to wonder what they were thinking with their promotion of the Real Love Boat.
  20. This is somewhat encouraging. My wife tested positive the last night of our cruise on August 4 and we were both told to isolate in our cabin. The next morning we were transported to a hotel near Heathrow Airport. We were also given her positive test report and each a letter with the date we left isolation on the ship. Princess paid for five days in the hotel, but since we couldn't fly back to the US until 10 days from the positive test we paid for the additional 5 days. I submitted a meal claim to Princess and the extra hotel charges to AON. I have claim numbers from both. I had no trouble uploading documents. Considering how many people have submitted Covid claims I can see resolution taking a long time.

  22. I think the aim is accommodating more than people who think of themselves as the older generation. There are many people with disabilities young and old who have difficulty using todays devices, just as there are many whose lives have been made easier by developments in technology. As a long time iPhone user I know it has many accessibility features that have benefited everyone
  23. In the App under Preferences/Room there is a check mark for Patter under what flyers you would like to receive, which means you can ask to have whatever flyers you want delivered.
  24. I recommend cruising to people who haven't been on a cruise. I don't know why I would recommend Princess over a particular cruise line. I do think that if I was in charge I would be targeting people most likely to spend money on board, which wouldn't include me.
