Or perhaps the sign-up for notification. On the online web check-in platform, you have the opportunity to accept special offers and news from MSC. I understand from the postings of others, if you don't select "YES", you will not get upgrade offers. May want to check if that is done. It as at the bottom of the check-in form.

As Motegi points out, if there is something available, you can wait and check when you get on board. On Meraviglia last fall, we immediately went to the concierge desk and signed up for a chance to upgrade. Had to wait until they closed out check-in time, but we were in our balcony cabin before sail away. Cost was about $500 for the upgrade in total.

I got self control! Didn't even try and "ketchup" with a Dad joke!

On most MSC cruises we have been on, YC is very likely to be Nicolas Feuillatte.

"Mustard drill." Now, that's funny!๐๐

Pirate's First MSC Experience! A LIVE Seaside 8/20/23-8/27/23 Review
JAGR replied to pirate4me2's topic in MSC Cruises
I think that's a good choice. All three of the Hilton properties in that complex are very good. They are all solid 3-Star. -
As is always the case with MSC, YMMV! I was commenting based on the new menus showing the $5 charge for a second main dish, and those all showed the lobster and steak options as added cost. Honestly, my experience for MDR is limited with MSC, since we have only sailed in YC. You may very well be right. It would be a pleasant experience for @nyc12345.

If i you are in Yacht Club, it will be on offer at least one night. It should also be available as an added-cost item in the regular dining room(s), at least once. Probably about $19 or so for the cost.

Pirate's First MSC Experience! A LIVE Seaside 8/20/23-8/27/23 Review
JAGR replied to pirate4me2's topic in MSC Cruises
We were on Seaside pre-COVID, and it was either included or the bartenders didn't mind. With the new pricing structure, the worst case scenario is that you pay the difference between the price and the YC allowed price of up to $15. I think the high-end price for the those drinks would be $16, so it might cost a dollar. -
Pirate's First MSC Experience! A LIVE Seaside 8/20/23-8/27/23 Review

For some of us, the presence of the restaurants on deck 16 had one advantage! The common cocktail lounge for the restaurants had some really good bartenders, and the specialty "smoked" drinks there were great. It wasn't the same going down to deck 8 on Seashore, especially when our room was on 16 the two times we sailed Seascape. Looking forward to her brief return to Miami at the end of the year. -
Been on both ships, and they are good sports bars. True about football to some degree, but there is a greater likelihood that they will be airing European football mainly.

Meraviglia at Ocean Cayโฆ..which side of ship faces the island?
JAGR replied to JUSRN's topic in MSC Cruises
Geek here as well! You said April on Meraviglia. You must have had Captain Giuseppi Gazzano, the Sydney Greenstreet twin! We were on in March, and he did the same maneuvering that cruise. We meant him a few years ago on Carnival. Very outgoing. He mentioned how he still likes to maintain control over a ship's movement as he is, "Hands on!" -
Meraviglia -- Signature Cocktail and Rock Show question
JAGR replied to jcathers1's topic in MSC Cruises
You still have to pay for the show, drink or no drink. You are paying for the show and the choice of a drink (or no drink). Hosts/hostesses check that you are on the paid list at the entryway. The drinks are made in advance and laid out to allow choice. DW and I brought in wine from another bar, and were allowed to bring them in, as opposed to the main theater, where drinks are not allowed. -

Maybe they were trying to gently wake you so you could get an early start on uploading videos and photos! Probably lots of bandwidth available then! ๐๐ -

At least @Essiesmom didn't overburden you by telling you the answer could also be found at the bottom of Post #61, as well! -

His family is a group of interlopers I could handle. Officer's families in the YC has never been a problem for us. They are friendly, and the bambinos and bambinas we have met have been well behaved. -
There's a gym on MSC Meraviglia?? ๐๐

Oh, no! Not "Porky!" ๐ -
Sorry! Poor word choice next to docs! Meant veterans! ๐ซข And just came back from Ireland and the UK last month, so you are right (as usual!), of course. Thanks!

Forgot she's an ER doc. Only docs and vets use the 24-Hour clock!

1400! Hope you meant it just felt like that! That's an awful lot of interlopers!๐คญ

Agreed. I think it is easy to do for them as a staff group. We have found YC staff members to have really good memories! As one of many examples, we were on Meraviglia last October. Our Junior Butler said hello to us by name on the first day, and then said, "You were on Seaside in room 16xxx in March 2019, weren't you? It was Back to Back. I was your Junior Butler then." He was exactly right. Better memory than mine! -
For you and @xcell: If you are in YC, the maรฎยทtre d' or assistant will have copies of the menus for the week. It's much simpler now that they have the same menus week after week. If you are not in YC, you can check with the host or hostess at the restaurant.

MSC MERAVIGLIA --sailing on 9/4/2023 to Bermuda from Brooklyn, couple questions
JAGR replied to xzll's topic in MSC Cruises
Good price! I would just add a warning for anyone looking at this item is that it is not a transformer. It simply allows you to plug into the 220v outlet and stays at 220v. Important to know that you should check any devices you are using to see on that they can operate on 115-120 and 210-220 volts. You ca n usually see it on the device, or at least on the UL tag near the plug itself. Especially check any curling iron or other hair appliances. DD fried her curling iron on the first night of her cruise!
