  1. Ah, the dreaded double negative! Does this mean a positive, that MSO will do something, or is at extra negative added at no cost to imply a really negative negative? With mscdivina2016, I suspect the latter!
  2. Main pools are 2 meters (6' 5""), per the spec sheet.
  3. So true about the complainers! To paraphrase: … People always told me be careful of what you do And don't go around breaking young cruisers' hearts And mother always told me be careful of who you love And be careful of what you do 'cause the lie becomes the truth
  4. That's why I said stateside, as in "United States."
  5. You should be able to see menus for the week at the maitre d's desk in the dining rooms. At least one will be open on embarkation day. It's especially easy now that the menu is pretty well set from week to week.
  6. I'm not so sure it is a time availability issue. I think the bigger reason stateside is that the butlers are generally not allowed off the ship, or at least through customs and immigration.
  7. Without DW's permission to video the interlopers, don't your worry about coming across as Gladys Kravitz, peering at the interlopers from behind the curtains? 😁☺️
  8. I was just kidding! At first glance, I read it as "...having the butler eating a pizza in my room each night."
  9. What does the pizza eat in your room?☺️😁
  10. Technically, with Bella you can't "choose." You can indicate a preference for early or late, but MSC will ultimately assign your time, and it could be contrary to your preference.
  11. As I recall, you book physically challenged rooms, don't you? You should be fine in an oceanview.
  12. Prior to boarding, they would only know what you complete on the Special Needs form (typically required when booking a physically challenged room). On that form, you indicate what assistance you need in boarding and/or while on board. To your point, MSC trusts what you enter, so if a person is "unscrupulous", as you say, then that is the information the crew goes by. And, of course, a person who does not use a wheelchair can still require assistance navigating the ship.
  13. Short answer is no. They typically don't offer drink package discounts. The only thing you might see is a restaurant discount on certain situations (possibly a specialty restaurant offering a discount on lunch during a port day), or "all you can eat" at Hola Tacos or "all you can eat within a certain time frame" at the sushi bar.
  14. I wish they would go back to the backpack style, rather than the tote bag/drawstring type.
  15. Points won't be added until you actually use the purchases on board.
  16. I did a cancellation prior to our last cruise. I did it by calling into the main number. Surprisingly, I got right through to a capable and friendly customer service representative!
  17. I think you are asking some good questions, particularly if these things are a concern to you. With Aurea on Seascape, you will have a better and enhanced check-in and boarding experience, as well as Anytime Dining in a dining room reserved for Aurea guests (same kitchen as the MDRs, but you are likely to get more experienced wait staff. The spa is nice, but to my mind, the best perk is a private sun deck for Aurea guests, with a dedicated bar on that sun deck. No worries about chair hogs! If it is affordable for you, I would go with the Aurea experience.
  18. Not to be flippant, but you can always ask! That being said, it is very likely that they will not be able to accommodate your request. We usually bring a small for use on the bedside table.
  19. To clarify, the theater in the back (Le Cabaret Rouge) may indeed have shows, but there is no surcharge like on Meraviglia. When Seashore debuted in the USA, they did have musical shows (small troupe of singers and dancers). Not sure if they will have shows when it comes to Port Canaveral, but it is likely that there will be some sort of entertainment options in that space.
  20. Have never seen excursion sales! It is almost always less expensive to book online before the cruise. Usually, it runs 15-20% higher on board. We cancelled only once while onboard, and we were given OBC. I think that was the only option.
  21. Too be bad you lost a sense of humor over the years.
  22. And "accepted?" Your grammar was correct, but wanted to add reassurance to Homosassa!
  23. Sorry! Fat fingers on a small keyboard! I meant Seaside, not Seashore! Seashore has the specialty dining and a very small common cocktail lounge on deck 8. Sorry about that. Seaside is the favorite. Back to my typing lessons!
  24. Do you mean the main shows, or the ones in the Carousel Theater? The main shows seem to rotate every few months, with the regular return of the popular shows, like Michael Jackson Thriller. For the Carousel, I'm not sure if they rotate them, but it would be nice since they have other shows on this class ship overseas. With the loss of Cirque de Soleil, it's hard to tell since these shows are relatively new (just this year, I think).
  25. Good question! Unfortunately, the answers will run the gamut. We have always sailed Yacht Club, and mostly Caribbean cruises from USA ports. My favorite is Seashore, and primarily for one reason - the specialty restaurant common area cocktail lounge on deck 16! We usually stay on deck 16 on MSC, and on Seashore, just outside of the main entry doors are the specialty restaurants. They have one central cocktail lounge, and it is excellent! It is usually staffed by fully-trained bartenders, and they specialize in smoked drinks and upscale cocktails. Most importantly, they are willing to make any drink you want, or will happily make you one of their specialty drinks, or they will offer to just make on on the fly. It was never crowded, and the bartenders were more than happy to chat on any subject. We enjoyed all three of the "Sea-class" ships we were on, and appreciate the general similar feel and layout.
