That is awesome! Happy early bday to your hubby! We've never been on a NYE cruise either and are greatly looking forward to it! -
Just Booked the Panorama 12-9 to 12-16

We're sailing on Panorama 12/30 on a casino deal. Sadly, we couldn't get the balcony room, but we have an ocean view with drinks everywhere. Love the Panorama. Have a great time! -
This is great to know. Thank you!

Thoughts on Ocean View Cabin Deck 2 Versus Balcony
jerseygirlinAZ replied to awhitleycrew's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
We did an ocean view in Alaska in May/June. It was just fine. Normally, I'd pick a balcony over OV, but I really love being on the water (which is weird because I get seasick, lol). We've done OV rooms on low decks and have had no problems. -
Thoughts on an Alaska cruise for kids - 11 and 9?
jerseygirlinAZ replied to gqboy1's topic in Alaska
We took our eighter-year old to Alaska on Carnival Miracle this past May/June. We did an excursion with sled dogs, gold panning, and the train in Skagway, which she really loved (though she said the train was kind of long). In Juneau, she enjoyed the Salmon Hatchery, seeing eagles and a bear cross the road, visiting the local library, and shopping in town (specifically for Russian nesting dolls). She wasn't all that impressed with walking to Mendenhall glacier. There weren't a lot of kids on our cruise, but she still enjoyed going to the kids club and made some friends. When I asked her if she'd like to go on another Alaskan cruise, she emphatically yelled, "Yes!" Hope some of this helps. -
Never seen this many plats and diamonds on a cruise
jerseygirlinAZ replied to Eli_6's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
Lol. I'll be one in July, unless they change the program (and that would be just my luck). -
I'm a vegetarian and the only meat smell that bothers me is when my mom cooks ground beef in my house (though that could have something to do with my childhood, lol). Anytime I smell someone grilling in my neighborhood, I think, "well someone's having a party" or "looks like someone's getting ready for dinner." But I'm a very live-and-let-live kinda person. My husband and daughter eat meat and I'm okay with that.

Shocked!! No “Come Back Soon” under my cabin door!?
jerseygirlinAZ replied to KarmaCruisers's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
Just want to give another thanks to you and the other posters. Called today and managed to go from drinks in the casino to drinks anywhere for me and hubby (though he has to visit the cage once on board to get the offer). We also got $200 each in fun play, which we didn't have before. Couldn't upgrade to a balcony, but it's a 4-day cruise and we are more than happy with what we have. So, again, thanks!!! -

That's awesome. Did you call the main Carnival number or is there a Player's Club number to call? -
We are cruising over New Year's to the Mexican Riviera. We want to book a tour to swim with whale sharks. We found a company that is well rated and seems eco aware. We've been in contact with the company and things sound good, but I have some questions for the group here: 1. We dock at 8 a.m. The tour is at 9 a.m. The tour operator says it is a 20-minute ride from the cruise terminal to Marina de la Paz. Does that sound correct? 2. Is there a way I can find out before we cruise if there is a different between ship time and La Paz time? 3. Has anyone else done a whale shark tour? If so, would you care to share your experience? Thanks so much!

Double the price.

Seems like there are still problems with the site. Went to purchase the steakhouse for our October cruise and the price was well over what it should have been so I removed it from my cart. (Of course I would be the one who gets the opposite of a good glitch, lol.) Also, there are very few excursions listed for each of the four cruises I have booked.

1. No, you cannot take food off the ship (unless it's something prepackaged that you brought on board). 2. You don't need any shoes for the water slide. You might need them for Bolt, but I can't remember.

I also had this offer! Originally tried to buy a gift card from carnival.com, but my purchase wouldn't go through. 😞 So I used it to make a deposit on a cruise we had on hold. Wish I could have gotten more cash back, but I'll take what I can get.

I believe the shops at the port by the gondola were still open though, but I could be mistaken.

They started shutting down around 5 in Hoonah when we were there in late May. We loved ISP, especially Hoonah. Took the shuttle and saw the totem carvers. Went to a very small aquarium they have there, which was very enjoyable for our seven-year old. Very nice, friendly people. Did some shopping and had a beer at the brewery. Closer to port, we took the free gondola and hiked the short nature trail back.

On a side note, on our last cruise to Alaska in May/June, there was an activity for tweens and teens to come to a pedicure party at the spa. Not sure how much it was as my daughter didn't go, but something else to maybe look into. Have a great cruise! -

Miracle to Alaska Review: June 26-July 6

That is so awesome! I thought we were pretty lucky with how close we got considering the ice, but WOW!!! Your pics are amazing! -
I was excited to see an upgrade offer when I looked into my European cruise that sails next June on the Legend. We currently have a balcony room on the fourth floor with no room across from us, but rooms on both sides. The upgrade is to an 8th floor balcony with rooms across from it, a regular balcony on one side, and an extended balcony on the other. The upgrade is $80 total. The cruise is nine days with only one day at sea. I'm leaning toward sticking with the room we have since it seems we'll have less foot traffic and we'll be getting off the ship nearly everyday, but figured I'd check in here in case someone has something I haven't considered. Thoughts?
