We parked at the Jacksonville port, back in 2014. Things may have changed since then, but it was very easy. Drove through a bunch of winding lanes marked off by cones. Stopped in an area to unload luggage to give to the porters. Then continued on to the lot. Very short walk to the entrance to the terminal. Terminal isn't much to look at, but it gets the job done. Only other thing was that the directions to the port were a bit confusing, I remember we had to make quite a few turns after getting off the interstate.

Call and speak to a representative. Either they will do it for you or give you the reason why they can't.

If the card was used up it'll show a balance of $0. Invalid card means the number is incorrect. Double check that you aren't making a mistake with the number. I did this once, when I copied them into a spreadsheet, the last number was cut off. If the number is right, call carnival.

Another reason to get good travel insurance. Most policies will cover this to a much higher amount.

Lots of comedy shows, most nights, multiple shows per day. They'll be listed as either family friendly or adult only. Some are great, some not so much. A lot depends on preference. They have other shows also. It'll be personal preference whether they sound like more fun than other things going on, like dive in movies, bands, and so on. Nothing that I'd consider can't miss though. Playlist productions music reviews are the closest to can't miss... if it's a genre you like.

To add on, if you do travel a lot, you need to figure in the long processing delays of renewals, with the result being you do have to plan on using a BC for one cruise because you don't have a long enough gap between trips for the renewal.

I'm pretty sure drinks must be in carry on.

You'll get a ticket in your cabin telling you the time and place to meet for the early tender. They'll check your ticket, and escort the group down to the tender.

The shows are music review shows. If they are a type of music you like, then you'll enjoy it. No reservations, seating is first come first served. If you get there 45 min before showtime, you'll get your choice of seat. Elevators: buttons are on the outside, none on the inside. You press the floor you want, one press for each person in your party. Elevator will come and take you to your floor. If you get on a random elevator, you won't be able to change where it takes you.

When you check in for the cruise, it'll ask who is responsible for the kids' charges. You can assign each kid to a different adult. Doesn't matter which cabin they're in.

I believe horizon is out of F on Saturday departures and D for Sunday departures.

I don't think it's a set time frame when it'll be available. Just keep checking. If it's sold out it'll say sold out. If it's not there at all then it hasn't gone on sale yet. Some cruises don't have it at all, like journeys cruises. Too many diamonds and platinums already.

Not having a printer friendly page for pre-purchased items is just bad. If you click invoice, on the on-board credit portion, it shows you the OBC remaining, and if you click the little down arrow, it'll show you how much was used, and the original total. But, not what they were used for.

Lots of carry ons that you really want/need to drop off, like medical equipment is probably better off left in the cabin than carried around the ship. And, if your group has a bunch of cabins, only 1 needs to get FTTF, but all can drop off their carry ons into the one cabin.

FTTF was much more worth it before they started with the arrival times (and it was a lot cheaper too). Back then, half the ship arrived at 10am, and FTTF allowed you to completely get to the front of the line. Since arrival times, even the busiest time slots aren't too bad. FTTF will still get you a shorter line, but not as much as a difference.

Yeah... I saw that recently. I got enough points for one more, but they were gone. But, like many other suppliers, they come and go. But, I don't go on there often enough to have any idea how long before they are generally replenished.

Match Game was 1k for me. I guess it likes you better. Scratch game hates me too. It seems I win at least twice per week with the wheel, but hardly ever with the scratch off.

I'll be checking in 3 (or 4 if I do my parents also) rooms. Is there a way to book arrival times for more than 1 cabin at the same time, or did you do them one after the other? What's the most efficient way of getting through them all to get all the times the same?

First try the waitlist. If that doesn't pan out: Go see the matre d when you get on board; there will be set ours when he/she is available. Odds are pretty good they can accomodate you.

I wonder if they'll start using dynamic pricing for the cabanas/villas to maximize revenue. I can imagine people willing to pay more for AC and shade in the heat of July than the cooler winter months. In terms of maximizing revenue of the cabanas: if they sell only 10 at $700, that's $7000. They sold out at $450. What that the price before the increases? Times 15 is $6750 FTTF should see dynamic pricing. For our upcoming Horizon sailing, FTTF has been sold out at $130 for months. But, for our upcoming Glory cruise, it's still available. And, Glory has a tender port (Belize), Horizon does not, making FTTF more valuable for the Glory trip. If it were to go on sale, we would get it for Glory, but not at $130. We have a FH suite for Horizon, so no need for FTTF. Bottom line, they could have charged more for FTTF for Horizon and still sellout, but it seems to be overpriced for Glory.

They do not need their card for camp ocean, unless the child has self sign out privileges (but minimum age is 9 i think). Authorized adults need their cards to sign in and out. Not the child's card. 5 year olds do not need their card on the ship. As for room switching, Carnival doesn't care which room she actually sleeps in. However, there is a good chance the parents' cabin does not have an extra bed. Yours will. You can check a deck plan to see if parents room has a third bed. If you do switch, probably no need to go to get a spare key for her as she won't use it anyway.

The kids cards do open the doors. Our youngest first cruised when he was 2 years 10 months. The card opened the door, and, as the poster above said, the only time he handled the card was to get on and off the ship. Of course, while handing it to the crew member to scan his card to get on the ship, he drops it, and it ALMOST fell into the water. Someone made a great catch at the last moment. Unless the kids are old enough to walk around the ship on their own (and thus need to have access to the cabin, as well as make purchases if they have the privilege as well), the cards can just stay in the safe unless leaving the ship at ports.
