  1. I submitted mine on Monday for our Aug 2023 cruise, and got approved today. So, I would say yes.
  2. I've never purchased the carnival insurance. There are a lot of options, though. If you cancel for a covered reason, or you choose cancel for any reason, they'll cover any forfeited deposit.
  3. Anyone have a good recommendation for reef friendly sun screen? Las time in Cozumel, we tried a zinc oxide cream, and, despite reapplying every hour, my red-headed wife turned into a lobster. Skin matched her hair. She was not happy. Thanks!
  4. We were looking at Isla Passion, but it was a LOT more expensive than PM, and also it takes a lot longer to get there.
  5. Another aspect of this is if you plan on purchasing travel insurance. If you are getting travel insurance anyway, then as long as you cancel for a covered reason you would get back any non-refundable deposit or fee.
  6. I've found more options for refundable deposits without cancelation fees through travel agents. Sometimes the travel agent refundable deposits are cheaper fares than carnivals nonrefundable deposit fares (when you include ta perks). In terms of the exact fare you are looking at, it'll say in the terms and conditions, you'll just have to find it.
  7. You'd think they could at least change the crossword puzzles to have new words. Three weeks now with the same exact puzzle and words?
  8. We're in a similar situation as you, including having been to PM before (in 2015, actually) but not chank. We're leaning heavily towards going back to PM (where we had a great time). 1. The kids are looking forward to the inflatables again (though, from pictures, it looks like they are completely replaced since 2015, and the kids are a little sad it won't be the same) 2. Chank does not have a sandy beach with ocean access, like PM does We looked into the Chank cabana, and that did appeal to us. But, the cabana area does not really have a nice beach.
  9. When we made this trip we stopped for the night at: Embassy Suites Savannah Airport 145 W Mulberry Blvd, Savannah, GA It's right off of I-95, lots of places to eat, and other hotels right there as well. We left at the crack of dawn (a bit earlier, actually), stopped for lunch and a couple of snacks, and had dinner right near the hotel. Got a good night's sleep, and had a medium length drive left. This allowed us to arrive with time to get settled and get a good night sleep. It was nice to have no driving left after dinner. We like to do as much driving as we can on day 1. Day 2 we're always more tired, and the driving is always harder. Also, by arriving early on Day 2, we have time to get settled, have a nice relaxing dinner, an early bed time, and be extremely well rested for embarkation day! P.S. Do not stop at South of the Border. Nothing worth seeing there.
  10. Yep. Everyone knows it's the elephants that are pink
  11. Kids are 8 and 11, I'm sure op is anyway managing their kids booking. You'll have to call carnival to make sure dining is linked.
  12. For the most part I agree with this... except at half moon cay. That amazing sand really does get everywhere, and everything you bring will have to be cleaned out. And water shoes are the worst for half moon cay sand.
  13. Half moon cay we use sandals or crocs and take them off when we go into the ocean. We leave our water shoes on the ship. It's the softest sand you could imagine. But, it can be impossible to wash out of water shoes.
  14. From what I understand, Carnival's gift card system doesn't allow refunds to go back on old gift cards. Now, why they don't use e-cards for all refunds, instead of a mix of both, is a different question. You'd think using ecards for refunds would save them the shipping money.
  15. Didn't win at all last week with the scratch off, but won 200 points today. I like the spin game better. I win more.
  16. At Playa Mia it is pretty deep. Life vests are required for good reason. And it has to be deep for when you fall, jump, or slide into the water.
  17. As the carnival spokesperson it is incumbent on him to know what is written on the document he is referring to and respond appropriately, regardless of the wording of the message he's responding to. His reckless response just causes more confusion.
  18. So... maybe J.H. should spend less time being snarky and more time reading. The boarding passes say: "Stateroom access will be available at 1:30"
  19. So it looks like we'll have Cookie on our July 8 Horizon cruise!
  20. Well... we decided that in protest of our lack of luck of the Irish we'd go to a Mexican restaurant for dinner tonight. For Cinco de Mayo we'll go to an Irish restaurant. #CrowdAvoidance
  21. No luck of the Irish for me. And, I'm even wearing green today.
  22. Between Pomano Beach and Boca Raton is about an hour out from POM, and decent rates at hotels.
  23. I'd stop for the night like an hour from the port. Hotels will be a fraction of the price. Even with a 10am arrival time you wouldn't leave hotel until 9am. Then park at port
