  1. What would you say the temperature range was on a usual day?
  2. I enjoyed many lunches and a dinner or two on my balcony just a few doors down - I had the corner FV for a B2B2B I did. On Celebrity, any cabin can order from the MDR menu when the MDR is open, but as has been pointed out it will not be served course-by-course as it is in a Suite. I was lucky in that I had the best stateroom attendant ever, but my cabin had a taller table on it. Maybe they do this for the corner FVs since they have more room. Oddly, when I reboarded for the Panama Canal I had a tall table on my corner FV (thank you, MoveUp bid) but my parents did not on theirs on the opposite side and a deck away. Their (awful) stateroom attendant said I must be in a suite - his reaction when I pointed to my balcony just across the way priceless. Their new attendant found something that was suitable (looked like from the kids' club or workshop) and put it there which my parents really appreciated with my Mom's mobility struggles on such a long cruise. Sometimes a late afternoon room service order becomes dinner!
  3. I was stalking this one a bit - major bucket list for me. Hope you have an amazing time.
  4. Just booked Solstice - September 22, 2023. It's one cruise as part of the repositioning in May and one in September in the other direction each year. Shows docked in Hilo, tendering in Kona and Maui.
  5. I was surprised to see this too - we just booked Solstice and were disappointed about no Kauai. Nearly 20 years ago when we did an NCL cruise there, it was our favorite island. For that reason we're thinking about spending our post-cruise time there. Why doesn't Celebrity visit Kauai anymore?
  6. Happy to hear you had a nice time. I'm being tempted by the Rio to Lisbon TA on the Infinity. I was only on Millennium in that class of ship recently, and so am hesitant since I am used to the revolutionized ship.
  7. I am doing the RS solo on Solstice October 22 also having taken advantage of the great sale as well. Many times on X but this (B2B) will be my first time in the Retreat. I'm doing a corner SS the first week. Will let you know how it goes!
  8. I bought this for my parents, so they could make a nightcap when we were on the Millennium through the Panama Canal. It became a comedy of errors when the bottle didn't show up for days, despite several officers knowing it was missing. Some mixers came also, and they were able to swap them out for seltzer (even though I told the officers on the Quest for The Missing Vodka that they wanted seltzer with it). I would walk them to their cabin at night and peek in, hoping the bottle had arrived while they were away for the evening. In the end there was a specialty dinner given to us as a sorry (it was also my birthday), especially because the excellent GSO remembered when I was on myself previously and my flowers got lost, and she was so embarrassed. I was quite surprised that it was a 750 mL bottle of Grey Goose provided, as I have only ever seen 1 L bottles on ships, whether in the shops or the bars. Maybe that was part of the delay.
  9. Sorry you went through this, especially in the PH. While the M-class PH is truly stunning, it is easy to feel a bit exposed on that verandah and I'd be very uncomfortable after hearing that. I really should have reported my next door neighbor on a Panama Canal cruise. I always suspected it as the smell (just "regular" smoking) often permeated into my cabin. But one morning towards the end of the cruise, very early, I had set up on my lounger to take advantage of morning sun. I was already out there and enjoying peace and quiet when I heard the adjacent balcony door open, and then the characteristic click of a lighter then the smell. At that point I didn't want to make waves with not long left, there were already a variety of issues with housekeeping, but in reality really should have as it could have resulted in a terrible fire.
  10. I think everyone I know is getting hot glass sculptures and Celebrity bathrobes for Christmas this year!
  11. Celebrity is able to do this for sure. I booked a suite guarantee as first part of a B2B on Solstice and secured RS for second portion. At first I was in an inside for the first week right down the hall from the RS but thought being in Luminae for both weeks would be nice. My PVP was able to tell me that behind the scenes, the suite guarantee had gone up $200, so it made no sense for me to add the $100 of OBC. However, I then started looking and realized that S1 and S2 were the same price for this cruise. I upgraded out of the suite guarantee for $400 into a corner S1 and got an additional $100 OBC. So for a "net" of $300, I got a location I really like (I hate shaded balconies) and took advantage of the extra OBC even though it would't have made sense in my original category. But, to answer your original question, yes, if he had pulled the suite guarantee and seen that the price had come down, I could have taken advantage of the extra OBC. I am not sure if it is only Celebrity that can do that, but I know they can.
  12. You can only get the double OBC if you reprice. It's worth running a mock booking on the site to see if anything's changed before calling in.
  13. As punishment for singing their praises, two bookings of mine just got the reply that they couldn't open my proof of stock ownership - despite it being the same file attached to the three bookings that worked fine earlier today. Consistently inconsistent, I have sent in the same thing over again. 🙂
  14. Yes - these are all before final payment. Both X and Royal. Here is the format I used for the e-mail (lifted and adapted from another thread here): To: shareholderbenefit@rccl.com Subject: Shareholder Benefit - [vessel] - [sail date] Please process the shareholder benefit for my upcoming cruise as follows:Guest name: [name]Ship: [vessel]Sail Date: [sail date]Booking Number: [booking #] Evidence from my brokerage account is attached. Please let me know if there are any issues. Thank you, [name] [phone] I attached a positions page from my brokerage with nearly everything other than the RCCL share price and number of shares redacted - did not wait for a monthly brokerage statement to generate. I renamed my brokerage account "nickname" with my full name so that my name would be on the same page, in case they needed that for verification, since I had redacted the account number. Good luck!
  15. They have not required true payment for me to get the promo. They're simply added to my booking, and I'll pay the total due (cruise + air, - promo) on my booking when it's due. The price for the Flights by Celebrity line item on my booking invoice is with the discount applied, i.e., there is not a a line item for the discount. In my case, these are domestic flights.
  16. It all depends. You really have to check every booking to be sure. One of mine made sense.
  17. Going forward, the recent CC program changes mean that members do get a bump: "Classic members get an extra 1% multiplier, Select members get a 2% multiplier, Elite members get a 3% multiplier, Elite Plus members get a 4% multiplier, and Zenith members get a 5% multiplier." https://www.celebritycruises.com/captains-club/program-changes
  18. I spent 34 nights on Silhouette and Millennium solo last winter. I think your plan is good to make friends for the night. The LGBT happy hours unfortunately are not hosted and, at least on Millennium, seemed to drop off after only one or two days. On a 10 night cruise that was a bit disappointing - the assumption is that folks meet each other and the need is satisfied, but the beginning of a cruise can be pretty busy. I made great friends on every cruise from all backgrounds - the general solo happy hour often overlapped - and there were many late nights. There are plenty of venues so if you're not feeling one, you can hop to to the next. Let us know how it goes - I will be solo on Solstice for the Mexican Riviera B2B in October.
  19. Me too - just got a couple updated, even though it's evening. I use the e-mail address rather than the webform. Didn't bother with the PDF form either, just put the details in the body of the e-mail.
  20. You will see a strikethrough with a red line in the old price and the new price above or below it. It’s not all carriers it seems. I’m on a B2B and had success getting them to give me the second cruise’s discount for flights as OBC since they prefer to book flights RT on first booking rather than two one ways - even though fare is only a couple $ different.
  21. That’s right - if within final payment - but in my case our cruise is in March so we have a while to make changes without a fee.
  22. A FBC rep told me the flight promo was going until August 31 but probably would be extended. He confirmed that if you book now then change later when more flights open up, you keep the credit if you stay with the same airline. He said if you change airlines, you only get the credit if the promo is still going on then.
  23. This thread is very helpful. I'll be in a RS for the first time on Solstice soon. Chef's Table would come out of my OBC, right?
  24. On Millennium this past spring, they had the main Captain's Club Concierge do double duty and also serve as Groups Coordinator.
  25. Cattier was scarce on Silhouette in February. Some bartenders would squirrel it away for my friend and I who they came to know always wanted a glass when we came by. You must watch as the Chandon is often tried. It's ok if you've already had a few. On Millennium in March, there was a little Cattier and then through March it switched to Monopole Blue Top. It's a good champagne, in fact I had brought some onboard as part of my bottles allowed. You can also pre-order Perrier-Jouet via the gifts department, or it's provided in the RS and up.
